LOL, that'll come. Still sorting out the comfort on this one. It's a bit of a harsh beast by nature.

I like it a lot and would definitely recommend it, especially for a CX bike or a randonneur type build. I've had their levers on my CX bike for about 4 years and wouldn't consider anything else for that application. You basically get the reliability and crisp shifting of a bar end shifter with the shifters within reach from the hoods. If you're the type to ride mostly from the drops they wouldn't be as convenient but I'm almost always on the hoods so it works well for me.

The shifters that come with these levers by default don't have a rear friction mode, but you can get them without a shifter and mount your own bar end or downtube shifter on their widget. @jyl has a bike set up with vintage Simplex shifters on RetroShift (their old name) levers.

BTW, the bike that just won best of show at NAHBS had a custom set of Gevenalle levers with Campagnolo shifters.

That is really good to know. I've done two of these upgrades and in both cases the only work I outsourced was the cold set... maybe I should save that money next time!

In the example you quoted, it is possible the hangar could have been tweaked slightly before the cold set, or afterwards by something else. I never had a reason to check the hangar when I was running 7 or 9 speed friction. But the angle of misalignment was consistent with being caused by the cold set.

Sora brifters aside, this is a very handsome beast.

The colors flow very nicely from the blue > white > red.

Hope you can get the comfort aspect worked out.

I just got back in from 23 miles on this. Some changes I mad yesterday worked to help the comfort. Still a lot of resistance somewhere in the drivetrain/wheels. I managed a 19 mph avg but it took a lot more effort than it should have on a calm day. Potential is there.

That's not my bike, and I don't know what the bar tape is. Apparently whatever it is has been customized.

Custom bar tape with doves printed on, they appear to be Columbus doves but I think are supposed to be more part of the Prince theme tying in "When doves cry" might actually be Columbus tape from somewhere.

You took the photo with your phone flipped the other way. The phone saves orientation data but not all software reads or applies this data.

Does a bike with 10-speed indexed downtube shifters belong here? I say yes! Here is the latest version of my 650B Bianchi.

Nice bike, but this thread is specifically for bikes with integrated shifter/brake levers, not downtube levers/bar ends whether or not they're indexed. Says so right in the title.

Hmm, getting banned from this thread does give me a good excuse to post pictures of the offending bike in other threads!

I think what we really need is a dedicated thread for bikes with anachronistic indexed downtube shifters.

I don't mind Sora. In fact I just put an entire Sora Group (except cranks) on my recently acquired Torpado Super Strada. It is comfortable and shifts great.

I like this idea. It would give me an extra excuse to post my '84 Super Sport (6-speed Superbe Pro friction DT shifters) with a full 600 Tricolor 7-speed indexed groupset from only a few years later, as well as my Masi with it's newer 10-speed DA DT shifteres with corresponding 7800 derailleurs.

I find it neat to see what people do with framesets you sold. Lookin' good, and comfortable.
