just wondering, why does his low seat height mean his frame is too big? if he has good stand over clearence and the reach is good? thanks. later.

Pepsi, how can you judge what a good fit is by just looking at the bike? IMO, the TT length is much more important than the ST length.
If he gotten a smaller bike, he may have an inch or so more seat post showing.....I guess you can say it's looks more "normal". But guess what? The top tube will be shorter. He has a long torso already. So that means a longer stem.
I think he made the right decision by getting the larger bike that had the Top Tube that fits him.
Better advice would be: Get a bike that is known for their long top tubes (LeMonds).

Yeah, bluecd, it's a nice bike, but you lost points by not doing three things:
1. It's all about wireless cyclocomputers these days...there's even such a thing as indoor plumbing and newfangled teevee sets.
2. Chain position, man! Everybody knows that the best veloporn has the chain on the big chainring and smallest rear cog. It's like looking at a pornstar with a band-aid on. You're like, "Sure, she's hot...but, ew."
3. Most savvy OCP'ers would have Photoshopped out the bike stand. Rookie.
/not serious...envious...and I don't have a pic up here anyway, so what do I know.

Nice mods on that Synapse! You have to schoose your riding clothes carefully to match that ride... hehehe
I just added a naked Six13 Pro2 to my stable and it is the best all around performer so far. But it's all about poligamy the fun is shared with a '94 Firehouse Red R600 (Ultegra), '90 Bianchi Corsa (metallic tangerine, Campy)) and for those rainy/muddy days a '99 Raleigh M80 MTB (metallic green when clean, XTR)
