Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

this is my 2005 Cannondale R700. Not much stock left on this one. Kestrel Carbon handlebar, FSA OS115 stem, Selle Italia Gel saddle, Dura Ace brakes, Topolino C19 wheelset, Profile Carbon cranks, Eggbeater Twin-Ti pedals....weighs in at exactly 17.6 pounds.

njwbert, I absolutely love your bike. So clean looking. No gaudy decals. I have a Trek 2100 and the only thing I don't like about it is the ugly decals...

Sweet lookin' C'dale Slabby.

Here is my 2004 LeMond Tourmalet...before and after handlebar tape change.
Before

After

I thoughtthe tape matched perfectly, which it did before I pulled it tight to wrap the bars, when it lightened. I like the look nonetheless. It makes it kind of hard to miss in traffic....anybody have a green saddle ?

Cheers,

Brian

Very nice bike Caloso! I love the Central Valley scenery, too! Is that the levee road?

Finally...my new ride...

The majority of the components came from my '06 Felt F65, which I swapped out for the 105 Groupset that came with the Scott CR1 Team.

Love that steel Caldaro!!!! I'd love to get that bike to Joe Bell for a custom finish, and then put on some new Campy stuff. I bet it rides like a dream.

edit: Looks like you have some nice Campy stuff on there already.

Thanks very much. Yes, that's the river road along the Sacramento River south of Freeport, just across the river from Clarksburg. Part of my nearly daily morning ride. Gorgeous, isn't it? I thought it appropriate to pose my Italian bike along a vineyard.

This was my first road bike, only mine was celeste. Rides like a Cadillac an any road you put it on. Climbs like a mtn goat despite weighing 27lbs. (mine did anyways)

Sweeet ride!
