I can’t believe I’m asking this but how wide can the tires go on this one? I have a stable of go-fast bikes but am thinking of something to maneuver the MUPs a couple of miles to the city center. My understanding is the Sirrus is basically an Allez so probably a go-fast machine but wanted to check.

That’s a good deal. Looks like it started out in Richmond, VA at Agee’s Bike Shop. That was my LBS way back when.

The 1991 catalog indicates they shipped with 23 mm tires; my '88 Sirrus, which is the generation before this one, came stock with 25 mm tires, and from what I could see that was as big as they could go.

Thank you for the info. Skinny tires is what I expected. I’m minutes away from this seller but already have enough skinny tire racers plus a couple more to build. Seems like a great bike for someone to grab at that price.

For whatever it’s worth, there was something about the ride on my ‘88 that made me forget the 23 mm tires that were on it. If I didn’t have that same ride quality with the Lighthouse - near identical geometry but it takes 32s and fenders - I would have kept it.

An 88 converted to 650b (with 38s) is one of my favorite rides. It’s one fault is no fender eyelets, which it looks like this one has.

I can get 38mm tires on a 650b-converted ‘88 Sirrus. But doesn’t help the seller.

A neighbor gave this to me yesterday, Dirty and in need of attention, mechanically, but seems pretty good in the cosmetics department. Can't honestly say that I am interested in keeping the bike...

But the other one the neighbor gave me, a nice Trek, looks like a Brifterized keeper with Rolf wheels...
