never heard of it..but it's probably fine. Just a new site, that's all. Nothing about it appears sketchy to me. Those velocity to DA wheelsets are only available in one color, so he probably just got a ton of that color in and is selling them off ubercheap

I'd say if you're unsure, try the link through eBay for current auctions. That way if they stiff you -- which is pretty unlikely -- you're protected through eBay, AND you can give em hell in their feedback.

wheelsets at Velo Mine

Hey guys, I've been selling on ebay with username jakes5 since 1998 with 100% feedback. I started the Velo Mine site June 1, 2009 to avoid some of the ridiculous ebay fees.

Mostly i sell vintage but also sell some new fixed gear & track stuff. You can checkout with paypal or with a credit card so you are protected as a buyer either way. Generally, i print the shipping labels immediately, e-mail an image of the label to make sure it is correct and ship the same day or next day.

I will be working on some type of feedback system.

Regards,
Ben Cole

Velo Mine is legit

I bought a brand new Campy Veloce 10-speed cassette, including lockring, from Velo Mine for only $80. He had it listed on eBay, I emailed him a technical question on a Friday night which he responded to on a Saturday. There was a slight glitch with the eBay postage calculator so he also refunded $1.50 in excess postage charges. I received a brand new cassette, in original box, with all original paperwork.

Basically, I get the impression he's a one-man show and probably has almost no overhead. So we get great prices!

I just bought a NOS Campy Nuovo Record chainring from Ben for an excellent price. He refunded some overcharged shipping costs and the item got to me literally 3 days after ordering. It was a great buying experience. I have absolutely no relation to the seller or anything, I just think he has a cool site going on and people should support!

I've bought numerous items from Ben at Velomine. His site has been a nice little secret amoungst friends up here. Nicely polished 1a stems for $30, CDM bars for $25 and other crucial vintage pieces. Their polishing services are unprecedented too.

Great guys.

yes, i've purchased a TON of stuff from Ben. He's been a trusted seller on ebay for years and now has opened his own "E" store to avoid ebay fees. He's very kind and his prices are FAIR! He's an active member of the Classic Rendezvous list and I highly recommend doing business with him. Hope this helps.
Best,
John

I discovered his site by chance, looking for some Campy NR parts, about a month ago. Since then I bought practically a complete "grouppo" from him and am extremely impressed with the service and value. Received everything literally two-three days after ordering, with VERY reasonable shipping costs - and that's really something considering that I live in Canada. Even, as another poster noted, got a shipping refund for some items. Cannot recommend him highly enough.

Ben is Okay!

I bought some Campagnolo hubs from Ben and they are great. The best thing about him is that he does not hide behind ebay. Accessible? Call him up and request more info. I have never been one to buy much off ebay when the seller doesn't respond to questions. Ben does. I need to buy some other stuff from him as well.

Purchase from Velomine

Hi there,

I purchased a set of wheels recently from Ben at Velomine, and his service and product quality were perfect. I purchased a set of Velocity Deep V's laced to Formula hubs for $150, which was easily the most competetive price I could find. Ben was also very willing to answer any questions that I had, which I'm sure he'll happily do for you, as well. If I'd had the $, I would certainly have gone for the wheelset that you're eyeing.

Best of luck - Pete

i bought deep v's from his site.. arrived in days in great condition. some scratches, but like he says, it's bound to happen while lacing black rims to a black hub with black spokes.
