Saddle Choices...(pics)
New bike (Trek 2200) that comes with the Bontrager saddle. I'm feeling a little pressure down there, if you know what I mean. Do you keep the stock saddle, or switch out for another. I'll also include picture of my old saddle...thinking of swapping them out.

I had that one on my Lemond. Wow, it was bad for me. If your old saddle works for you then by all means use it. Looks like a good design.

When I bought my Trek 5200 in '00, the stock saddle was a Selle Italia Flite Ti. Now, that is a very fine saddle, my friend. Personally, I have no first hand knowledge of Bonty saddles, but I've never heard anything positive about them. Trek should be embarrassed.

I have a Le Monde as well with the same bonty saddle. Any advice/opinions on a replacement? My main concern is discomfort down there and the fact that its not comfortable at all after around 30km.

Good post.
I just bought a Trek 1500 and have that exact same saddle, complete with the "pressure/pinching down there" problem. I didn't know what to expect in terms of saddle comfort, so I thought that this was something that would work itself out, but it has not after about 700 miles.
Willing to take any and all suggestions on saddles (I know it is a pretty broad topic). I am looking in the direction of a cutout style that hopefully will take some pressure off sensitive fleshy areas.

That saddle (and 2 or so other variations on it) is pretty much the filler saddle they have to throw on for test rides etc. Most companies put on no-name saddles for bikes under a few thousand as they know that people come in different sizes and adding cost by putting on a good saddle that will still only fit half the riders is stupid.

I have this model on four different bikes. Saddles are obviously a very personal choice, but I've found the Terry Fly Ti to be comfortably firm without being rock-like. Good support for 100 mile-plus days.

I have Brooks saddles on both of my bikes. The other saddle that worked well for me was the Selle Italia Trans Am XO.

I had that saddle on both my Trek 1200 and Pilot 5.0. It is very comfortable and soft for about 15-20 miles. Then it is horrible. Like one of the other posters said, it's just something to put on the bike sort of like pedals that come on it. They expect that people will change these items out so they put the cheapest they can get on it. I now run a Brooks Team Pro. Ok, but looks funny on a CF bike.

I replaced my stock Bontragger saddle with a Fizik Aliante. Although it is a bit pricy, it is still very conformable 80 miles into a long ride.

Have this on my Mountain bike and love it.
On my 5200 I have a Fi'zi:k Arione... works great and is just as comfortable on mile 80 as it was on mile 1 of a long ride.

The Arione is one of those saddles that you either love or hate. I had tons of recommendations to buy that one, so I did only to find out that it absolutely killed me. The guys that like them really like them though.
I'm in the Brooks camp now and have no complaints. I've also heard great things about the Fly Ti and the Aliante.

I've got an 06 2200 also. I love that bike but I hate that saddle. I've been conscidering modifying it to see, just for fun, if I can make it work. I've had a toupe on it now for some time and highly recommend it. I plan to get the new gel toupe people have been talking about when I'm in the market again.
