3alarmer put me on to this wonderful machine. Angelo Picchio worked out of Torino. Some of the lugs look like bulls right? More information on this maker here:

That's a beautiful bike, no bull. Neat dimpling on the back of the fork blades, not sure I've seen that before.

So nice! What a beautiful machine. Tons of showmanship, yet truly elegant at the same time. The dimpling on the back of the fork is really cool and new to me as well. Thanks for sharing.

I checked a thesaurus for an antonym for gaudy and didn't find a suitable word. This is tastefully simple in a way you don't often see on Italian bikes. I find it extremely tasteful.

That's definitely odd. The dimples look like what Columbus put in their SP chainstays; I wonder if Picchio used chainstays for fork blades, and if so, why? Are the blades round or oval?

CDM and Picchio special made me aware of the brand a long while back...they really are elegant and wonderful bikes. Yours is a good deal cleaner than mine (and mine lacks the star cut outs).

Dang! That would be the perfect bike for me! Beautiful but still restrained and not the usual over the top Italian "Peacock" bike.

Sadly this beautiful bike is missing decals. esp. the very elaborate ones on the down tube. The only known USA Importer of Picchio was William Lewis Imports in Texas and most of those he brought in were either this purple metallic or a red metallic. Of course there is very much less seen Torino Special in silver with the city's colors on the seat tube. The have that sort of arabesque heart shape in the seat lug & lower head lug that was pretty unique. Wonderful bikes!
