Dia Compe AGC Integrated Housing???!!!

Was this a good idea? I don't see and I didn't feel any benefit when I restored my first 86 Ironman. I am preparing to build my new and more-my-size 86 and I am tempted to try again if only to be "correct". Has any body used these things and liked them? Going with one continuous piece of housing to decrease friction, might lead me to abandon the levers completely and the 600 calipers in favor of some 105 SLRs. And then what? 9 speed 7700 and dual pivots?

I went continuous housing on my classic. Didn’t like the idea of 2 cables joined by a ferrule.

Those must be there to speed assembly time or some such, no? I can imagine no functional benefit to breaking up a run of housing.

My understanding is that Yoshigai created the integral housing as a time saver for the OEM bicycle manufacturers, some of whom were having problems seating the housing and/or keeping it in place while performing the new aero routing. Regarding the splice ferrule, it should have negligible effect on performance.

I use splice ferrules and they work fine.
