should There be a tools of the trade forum?
I have noticed that there is not a real place to discuss the tools, pumps, miniature and full size stands, workshop setups, and storage. There is just a couple here and there posts that I have seen. I know the Electronics, Lighting, & Gadgets says it is about tools also but it is WAY too cluttered with all of the lights and lumens and gadgets and what not. I am just saying there should be a place for all those DIY people to talk about the tools that are worth talking about. I just think there are too many people that may want to find out about how to make a good home workshop and what tools to get or what stand to buy (or make). Basically I am saying the tech should be separate from the tools.
Anybody think it’s a good idea?

Bicycle Mechanics is the obvious place to discuss tools and workstands, etc.
Maybe a forum devoted to Home Workshops would make sense.

Look around a little more carefully. You will find two other forums, at this site, which cover the tools you are referring to.

Framebuilders may use different tools than the average Bicycle Mechanic, i.e., hacksaws and welding equipment. I just want to have all the bases covered.
The Bicycle Mechanics Forum should have a lot of posts about what tools to use. Maybe you could go to the Bicycle Mechanics Forum and start a thread,"Tools of the Trade", with your question, and hopefully, it will be made a "sticky" thread, so it always appears at the top of the list.

"Frame Builders" covers anything that would be in a "Home Workshop".
In conclusion, I believe we do not need a new forum. But let's see if we can get a sticky thread started in Bicycle Mechanics, titled "Tools of the Trade". That would be nice.

I dont see any stickys like this on the Bicycle mechanics so i will try getting one started there. Also hotbike i like your idea about just a sticky thread, it makes more sense. i will copy this post to Bicycle mechanics and try to get a sticky started. If any of you want to help out over there that would be great.
