Where to buy stencil
I like to paint my old Trek. Does anyone know who sell Trek stencils or how to make them? Do I go to a sign shop?

You want to know for the lettering? Usually it's a decal. I don't know anybody who sells vintage Trek decals, but I'd start looking at the Velocals website and on Ebay, and go from there.

Go to Ebay. Search, in vintage bicycles, for Trek decals or stickers. Then just choose the seller and product that you like. For my money, I go with Cyclomondo in Australia. Excellent product (stickers) and easy to install (if you are careful). This old Peugeot is an example of Greg's product...

What year is your Trek? I may have a seat tube label around here from the early 80's. Would have to investigate the color scheme as they only used a couple different ones. Smiles, MH

Those were painted on so you will need a stencil to get the decal correct. Sorry I couldn't help. Smiles, MH

I've had good experiences with Velocals' decals.
