Speaking of loud music, how can you not hear a train horn?

Yup. It’s a 2 shot series and is about 95% effective. It’s fda approved for 50+ since it’s us older folks who are more prone to get it.

Ask your prescriber if you are a candidate for one of the newer oral agents. If their answer is "I don't know" then ask for a heme consult to find out. They are not for everyone, but many patients can switch over from older injectables or rat poison to an oral medicine.

So their consensus: baby aspirin not quite enough (haematologist), so low-dose Fragmin it is. I've learnt to live with the injections pretty well. Be nice to get off it, though!

The drug works somewhat because I have a little better vision this AM and the eyeball pressure is much better so I assume the macular swelling has gone down some. Hopefully, he can stop the leakage and I can keep what vision there is left. Didn't work the last series of injections.
One last thing, it makes bike riding more exciting at intersections.

Now, the mega-dose flu vaccine totally knocked me on my butt for 24 hours and it came on fast; fever, aches, etc. My wife only got a sore arm.

I'm a computer repair expert this morning. Yesterday, my mouse's scroll button quit and all troubleshooting failed plus using a new port, updating windows, and rebooting.
Applying my analytical mind this morning, I decided to blow air into the wheel and voila! I now have a working mouse, again. That's twice in 48 hours that I solved an electrical mystery. First the power strip and now the mouse. Going to be a great day.
Now, if I could just get my D-Fly to talk to register to my iPhone.

Yes, macular edema. I had a vitrectomy on the right eye in 2010 but the doc doesn't want to do one on this eye for some reason. I hate to sound so dramatic because it's way more common than I ever realized. There was a person ahead of me getting the same procedure and I've talked to others that have the same problem. It's just that when it happens to you, it feels so devastating to suddenly lose eyesight.

Heh. Can't say I like it, but beats the alternative! I'm just happy there is a way to reduce my risks of another 'event' (or events).
When I read about what other folks have gone through or are going through, really doesn't seem a big deal. Trsnrtr for example, with his eye.

It's my own bias, and it's probably not always correct, but for less common conditions or challenging patients, usually an academic medical center is good for a second opinion.
