Repair of Digital Display Window

Many tools come these days with digital displays which are vulnerable in repair settings. A family member dropped a wrench on top of the digital display of an air pump, punching a hole in the display's protective window. Replacement gauges are available, but are expensive. The LCD still worked and I hate trashing things that can be fixed. I cut out a side of plastic packaging and combined with a glue for phone screen display - kits are cheaply available on Ebay and elsewhere. The LCD is now fully protected and the pump is back to normal operation.
