Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

ummmm.....aside from showing a cyclist about to be in a world of hurt, what is the purpose of that sign? It looks like rail road tracks, but aren't those usually marked with an X?

I really don't think it matters. They need one in Prospect Park for the Cat 4/5 races however.

Tram lines me thinks.

We have 1-2 inch wide storm drains that run with the traffic here. They're always fun... a little like the spacers on bridges.

I want that sign as a jersey for my senior cat 4 races.

I'm surprised it hasn't been perforated by a 12 gauge slug...

Actually, there's a better one along the C&O canal.

There's a picture of me in the dry canal bottom, pointing up at the caution sign. We're not talking about how I got there.

Sure would suck to run into a camel at 25 mph on a bike.
