Eh...got the frame off EBay and slowly acquired the parts. All Japanese, of course.

I’m left handed but like the lever away from the center of the street.

(above) 1970 Peugeot PX-10E...I was 15 years old when I bought it used for $125 in 1971...

In the late 70's I switched from sew-ups to clinchers... Phil hubs with Mavic rims... Added a Phil bottom bracket at that time too... Replaced the Stronglight headset with Campy Record...

In the mid 90's I switched from multi gears to a single speed...

In the early 80's the seat tube broke at the bottom bracket... Paul Sadoff of Rock Lobster replaced it and added the cantilever braze-ons...

Two years ago I had it powder coated...

Still is a wonderful ride...!!!...

My trusty 'Check is back to it's original singlespeed, flat bar glory. Just put the Nanos on today--so far I dig 'em--faster feeling than the Knards that I wore out.

I laced up some Pelissier track hubs to some Araya rims for my Grand Jubile. I'm really happy to have some proper high flange track hubs on this, I had been running a 126 OLD freewheel road wheelset without a lockring for a while.

Very cool. Back in the mid 1960s, I was a poor college student who couldn't afford a new Peugeot PX 10, type E, so I had to settle for a UO-8. The interesting thing about the PX 10E was that it was sold as their "Professional Competition Racer", but had very long chainstays and a lot of fork rake, so it made for a great touring bike. How did you manage to mount the pump behind the seat tube? I can see using the chainstay brace to hold the pump at the bottom, but do not see how you did it at the top. Also, it looks like you had someone install water bottle mounts on the downtube and seatube, because the original Peugeot PX 10E did not have any, and the original pump was mounted on the downtube using clamps. Also, what happened to the original Stronglight No. 93 double crankset ?

Took this on its first proper ride today, it was flawless. This came to me as a super-beat 3x8, had to use a torch to get the bb off, etc. So much fun, totally changes the MTB experience. No issues at all with the chain—and it was pieced together with about half an old (but good) 8s chain and a bunch of leftover links I’ve stockpiled from other builds! The 32t is what was on there with the triple, and I sprung for a new Shimano 16t bmx cog. 25lbs.

Update:

No longer blue or SS. Gonna keep it for now 😉.

Thought I'd throw in a pick of my gravel bike I've thrown risers on and am converting to SS. The Single Speed formerly known as Prince.

Edited to show the prism metal flahe I dusted over the base coat for a very subtle razzle dazzle.

Rivendell Frank Jones Sr. single speed. Rides great, but still figuring out what bars I’m going to stick with...that’s the reason for the long brake cables.

An absolute beauty. I'm loving that long wheelbase.
