I bet you don’t do meth and PCP and need “wellness checks”, either. (The latest euphemism in the insidious medicalization of deviant antisocial behaviour which has denied us the use of so many of our public spaces, which we still have to pay taxes to maintain.)
One good thing about the pandemic is that the closed border keeps Antifa in Portland and out of Canada, where they caused so much trouble last winter. We have our own trouble-makers.

But maybe we are overreacting, Rob. Maybe the “Ich bin . . .” reference is to the victims of arson, looting, and vandalism (and shootings), not the perpetrators.

...been riding to and from work all week long, so yes, I'm riding on the west coast today. Our smoky skies have been getting better as the week wears on, today the air was very clear as we finally had some wind with a bit of rain...

I too am now residing in riot-ville USA, so riot, all the riot! But I did leave town this morning for eastern Idaho for a week or 2 to spend some time getting my old house ready to sell, so theres a chance that some of the smoke I'm breathing here I have already breathed in PDX, ultimately the only reason the smoke left PDX is because I left PDX :-P

Pretty sure he was talking about the smoke, which has spread across the US.

AQI was 70-80 this morning. First time below the mid-100 in a couple of weeks in the SGV region in SoCal. I had planned to join one of my riding groups at 7 am but overslept. We had a 4.5 earthquake last night at 11:59 pm and I got a bunch of texts. I couldn’t fall back to sleep until 2 am. I may try late afternoon or early tomorrow morning. The air quality here looks like it’s finally improving.

It's a little known fact that only five or six people are rioting. The rest of us are still doing more traditional Portland things like being passive-aggressive about other people's ethical choices, oiling our beards, and feeling superior to Seattle.

Riding in the dirt is a riot. Took my Clunker on a dirt ride today. Sharp right turns in the dirt on 30 year old semislicks are scary--for me--like a Black Friday wall mart riot--why am I doing this. Tomorrow is back to the road bike.

If you're looking for folks in the region ...

On the "Community" drop-down on the forum menu bar, there's "Member List," and that can be searched for "Location." Can run multiple searches ... for Portland, Hillsboro, Beaverton, etc., restricted for example to only those with posts since a given date.

Yep, I’ll second that opinion, it gets better by the ocean. 👍

I rode from Davis to Vacaville yesterday, and today I’ve made it to American Canyon so far, just North of Vallejo. I’m finally charging my phone at a Safeway, ran outta juice for awhile earlier. 🙄

I made up my mind awhile ago, that I’m crossing the Golden Gate Bridge this time. 😲🙄😁

First ride since the smoke cleared! Made it up the hill and realized it's been two weeks since I rode. The legs felt it.

Favorable winds the past two days-- winds from the SSW are keeping the smoke from the El Dorado Fire up in the hills, while simultaneously pushing the smoke from the Bobcat Fire... somewhere other than here. This weekend saw AQI in the mid-30s, which is phenomenal for us, fire or no fire. A refreshing change from me skipping Wednesday because I rode in AQI180+ on Tuesday and regretted it.

@Andy_K, our friend John and I did a Neal Lerner Invitational ride, but rather than stop at the South Market Cafe, we continued on to Midway for some pepperoni pizza and beer before finishing the loop. We rode within 2 miles of the Chehelem/Bald Peak fire, roads Andy I know well, but the wind was blowing away from our route. I'm sure we'll see some burnt areas when we ride in the other direction at a later date, but news is that 3 barns burned down, no houses.

AQI when we stopped was 18! Sun came out, no sunscreen, face is a bit red and I don't care. Glorious, glorious, wonderfulness. I think I'll sleep well tonight for the first time in a couple of weeks.

So exited to get out on my bike I forgot to take pics.
