My gf has a ‘97 Colnago Dream Mapei that is her pride and joy. Last night she found the same bike in my size and insisted on buying it as “we need matching Colnagos”
Tonight we are sitting in a seaside cafe near Watsonville CA celebrating after having loaded it up. Yes the wedding is soon, all mine, back off 😄😄

Im happy to hear you have a significant other that shares the same interest as you do. Its fun riding alone but much more if its with someone you love dearly and can enjoy a hobby together.
Im still trying to get my wife into cycling but its been a long battle lol

Sweet ride, sounds like a cool fiance too. My wife has a bike that she's never ridden. I don't mind that she doesn't ride with me, we both work from home, so getting out on a ride is my only real alone time.

My wife and I started riding together a month or two after we met. We've been married 28 years and we still ride together whenever we get the chance.
Good luck and happy trails!

Beautiful bike and an awesome story! We were never able to synchronize our riding so bought a tandem. Married 46 years, riding tandem for the last 35. :-)

Halloween 2019, I spy a stunning frame on a list. I think, I don't really need it, but it's a rare bird and it's so beautiful...
Me: "Honey, I'm looking at a really nice bike frame. It's just beautiful."
Her: "Then you should buy it! You deserve it. Go for it."
For this and much, much more:

I'll take "A WOMAN'S IMPECCABLE LOGIC" for the win, Alex.....
+1
As we enter year #2 , the 47cm Guerciotti will be joined by a Corsa Extra....while her Mercian frame gets repaired.
A well-established bike affliction is hard to find, even more with the C&V genome. Definitely.
It's so amazing when "You're going to the basement to work on bikes?" is a loving question.

You Liar. They don't even begin to match. Hers is running Shimano and yours is running Campy. She has yellow graphics on the fork, you have white. Her seat/bar tape combo is blue & blue, yours is white and black. And don't get me started on the seatposts. Geez, whad'ya trying to pull here?
But seriously, that is one fantastic find.
The bike is okay, too.

TFW you put Compass tires on her bike (she doesn't know what that means) and as soon as she starts rolling, she says "Wow these tires feel smooth!"

We are both just weird enough to bring the bikes to the ceremony 🤣. Truthfully we’ve already decided the perfect honeymoon will be in bikes, just not sure where yet.

We honeymoon’d on bikes in SE France in 1998, having first met in the middle of the 1993 200-mile Seattle-to-Portland ride. Don’t know when that kind of thing will be possible again, but I highly recommend a European biking honeymoon.

On the other hand, there’re stories like mine.
Have bought three or four bikes for She Who Controls My Life and not even a change of expression on her face on any of those occasions.
The last time, she said, “Why?”
Sniff...
