Wizard bicycle

Hey everybody- I'm looking for help placing a reasonable value on this bike considering the current market and everything. I have hung onto it long enough, and am now looking at bringing in something different and so, this one may be going on the block.

Wizards are very desirable. Is it all pre-78 Nuovo Record? Matching hubs? Not many made, Brian Bayliss bike, could be quite valuable.

Hubs I believe are matching but if I'm remembering correctly (I'm not able to check right now) one quick release lever is flat and one is curved. Also, I think the hubs are an older style than the rest of the components.

I would guess that $3,000 - $4,000 is in the ballpark.

You might consider joining the Classic Rendezvous Google group and posting it for sale there. Some serious collectors there with deep enough pockets for a bike like this.

it's screaming out for yellow cloth tape with shellac. other than that I'm pleased
at how pristine she still is. I'd ask 4 grand.

Shes got some paint touch ups along the top tube and minor wear consistent with use on club rides and a few races, but definitely a solid, presentable bike. I think the yellow cloth tape would look awesome, though perhaps a little padding under the tape would make it much more pleasant to ride on.

I agree this would be a good approach.

This bike needs profile in the market.

FWIW Many of the collectors I know that are my age have offloaded some very nice bikes over the last five years.

It will take just the right person with very deep pockets to get some $$$$ in this gosh awful economy.

For instance, a friend just sold a Sachs and a Weigle. I was astounded at the small amount he accepted to move them.

A Wizard is a neat find, but be prepared to let it sit for awhile to connect with the right person.
