Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Friday -- nice day!

Walked 6.1 km
Cycled 8 km ... a challenging little ride with 97 metres of climbing and half gravel
And a few flights of stairs.

Saturday -- rain all day.

Walked 5.5 km on treadmill.

Saturday: 40km or so, rolling hills.

Sunday: 49km up a valley with a mountainous 11km hike.

Continuing my recovery from a crash that left me with neck fractures among other things.

Some observations:
1. My fitness level sucks and is actually quite embarrassing right now. Poor fitness and the onset of Summer in Queensland is a dangerous combination, not to mention that me being unfit damages the morale of the Gold Coast.
2. Summer is an evil, disgusting concept. Governments are running around banning everything in sight, they should make themselves useful by banning summer.
3. It's good to be back in the rainforest. I've missed itl

84 miles over to Castroville and up the coast bike route to Watsonville and back over the hill and home. 17.6 avg. which is good for me. Temps all over the place. Perfect weather going over but dang cold wind coming off the ocean when I got there and 94 when I got back to town.

Did a 55km flat ride on Saturday with the girlfriend and a solo 20k of hills yesterday. Days are getting colder so I try to ride as much as I can before it's too cold & starts snowing...

Tuesday 27 miles Davis Is. evening ride. I did my 41 mile ride around S. Tampa on Saturday. Cooler temps in the morning, but windy. I went for a 41 mile ride to Thonotosassa on Saturday. Nice in the morning and less windy.
