Nah, they're not. I'm not even married. But...
How often is one supposed to replenish the goop in the tire? And how do you know how much goop to replenish with? I don't want to overdo the goop.

I believe this is an issue that can only be resolved if you go on the Jerry Springer Show.

"Goop".
In my childhood it was the liquid you put in Mattel's Thingmakers to make "Creepy Crawlers".
Now it's been culturally appropriated by Gwyneth Paltrow as the name of her "lifestyle brand".
I would love if you asked your question to Gwyneth's Goopsters.

It depends on the type of sealant that you are using.
I find that Stans dries out much faster than Orange seal. I might freshen it up in the road bike every 6 months. If in doubt, you can always pop the bead on one side and look inside. Easier said than done sometimes.

milkit makes a nice syringe to check/set sealant levels
i have best results so far using orange seal endurance
stans and finish line dried out much much faster.

Heh, you don't want to under-do the goop either. I top it off 2-4 times a year. Heat makes sealant evaporate faster-if you live in a hot place, store your bike in a hot garage, you'll probably want to top it off a couple of times in the warmer months. If I get a puncture that is bad enough to notice (ie, fountain of sealant until it seals the hole) I tend to add a little bit to replace the expelled fluid. Another way to check the level is to put the valve at the bottom of the wheel, let it set for a couple of minutes so the sealant settles, then deflate and remove the core. See if any sealant gets squeezed out the valve as the tire depresses. If there is little or none, it wouldn't hurt to add some.

What 5teve said. I hardly lost any this winter in riding temps from 25-40º. I use Orange seal.
I check mine by popping a bead and then pulling the stuff out with the same syringe that I use to inject the sealant with. My syringe holds 2 oz. so I can quickly see what i pull out. Put the same stuff back in if it hasn't separated.

There is no need to pop the bead.
Popping the bead is a waste of time and likely a huge mess.
Just remove the valve core and use a zip tie or similar as a dipstick. That's all.

Once a month I turn the bike upside down let all the air out of the tires remove the valve cores. I check the sealant with my Orange Seal dip stick. If needed I add a little OS install valve cores reflate the tire. Takes just a few minutes.

My rule of thumb is to start out with 1oz per inch of tire size. So my fatbike gets 4 oz and so on.
Every 3 months I add half of that to replenish.
This likely is on the high side, but what is the hurt of too much? If I have multiple holes I'm covered.
I make my own sealant, so it is cheap and I don't care about 2oz more weight.

I'm currently running tubeless on a road bike, gravel bike, MTB and fat bike. With road tubeless, if you hear the sealant sloshing around in the tire when you shake the tire back and forth you're good. I never pop the bead unless I'm replacing the tire. I put about 2 oz of Stans in 700x28 road tires. I find that 2 oz of Stan's sticks around for a long time, 6 months-ish. I just squirt some in through the valve if I can't hear anything sloshing.

I take my wheels to my LBS to have sealant put in and two have new tires mounted. They are not dying out.

lol, one is infamous but staying out of trouble now that he's older. he kept up the guitar & is quite good, so are two of his sons, but sadly, none derive employment with their talents. my other brother dropped the guitar later in life, but became sorta famous by writing books & has been interviewed on national TV by Donahue, Katie Curic & The view. his latest book is about writing his other books. he never stops, but his cash-flow is intermittent ...
