Went on a really fun group ride today. 60 miles for the 60th birthday of the woman in the first photo.
Everyone chatting it up, talking smack and telling jokes. Good times.

Dave, that's the corner of Main St and Main St. (not kidding) in the bustling and soon to be notable urban center of Dallas, GA.
Intoxicated motorists give lectures to cyclists about proper bicycle operation at this location every Thursday night. Cyclists come from all over to learn. This Thursday's lecture was one of the best.

It is British Racing Green that I had powder coated. It is a retired Cesare track bike that I built into a street bike. Here is the full build.

Braking sucks until the black coating starts to wear through, which will happen really fast if ridden in the rain but they won't stop at all when wet. Beware.
They have stayed straight but I'm relatively light and the roads are nice where I live. Mine are laced to Gran Compe small flange hubs with Sapim spokes. 1610 grams/pair including nuts as weighted with my calibrated scale.
I know people like Archetypes but they are nothing special - neither terribly aero nor terribly light nor terribly beautiful IMO. That's the best thing about them I guess - they are not terrible.
I'm thinking of switching to Wabi Sub 15's to save 150 grams. Switching out the Corsa tires for Rubino G+ Speed will save another 112 grams. That's over 1/2 lb. I'm going to switch the tires anyway because I don't like the Corsa but the Wabi wheels are narrow and the price was recently jacked.
Anyway, the wheels were a compromise between cost and weight when I bought them and they aren't ugly, I guess. They have held up.
The DT Swiss hubs are nice. How much do they weigh?
