Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I too have a 59cm WT that is my designated winter commuter/foul weather bike. I run Planet Bike's 29'er fenders, Schwalbe Marathon Winters 35c and with clipless pedals I have zero toe overlap (I know with the smaller sizes this can be a problem- if you think toe overlap is problematic). I think I would run into an issue with heel strike on a rear rack, unless modified. I use a Cetma 5 rail front rack. It gets daily use from Nov/Dec thru March. I'm with Abe, I like mine a lot.

I was posting before about trying to find a frame to swap replace my Kilo TT frame. I wanted something to allow fatter tires and fenders.... The FCU looks like it could totally be my next bike...... Looks like exactly what I want.

I'm commuting daily with the FCU on marathon supreme 40s, no fenders but still plenty of room. I swapped out the chainring for a 44t and it rides like a dream. +1 for the FCU!!

I actually prefer commuting on my road fixed gear bikes, but love my FCU off-road or in the snow.

can anyone with a kilo wt post a picture of the overlap? I'm especially interested in the 53cm frame size toe overlap. that would be much apprecaited.

One of the main reasons I got mine, kind of a pain to fine-tune with 40+ tires on but totally worth it.
