Central/Clemson, SC Riders?

Hey.

Recently moved to Central, SC (1 mile away from Clemson University) and was wondering if there were any area riders/rides?

Check out Electric City Cyclists......or something like that in Anderson.

Great area to ride and live by the way.

The Electric City Cycling Club is in Anderson, although it seems to have been fairly inactive the past few years other than to organize three rides: Jubilee Joy Ride, Isaqueena's Last Stand, and Ride for Raptors. They used to have a pretty good collection of ride cue sheets for the greater Anderson, Pickens, and Greenville counties area, although I haven't been able to find them for the past couple of years. It also looks like they have let their domain name expire, so they're now operating off of https://people.clemson.edu/~sjm/eccc/. Good folks and some great rides. JJR & RfR routes intersect at many points, and the road markings are pretty clear, so you can cobble together some good rides just working off the paint on the pavement. There's also a weekly (I think) time trial in Anderson County. My wife's parents live in Anderson, so we've done JJR & RfR a few times, and ride around on some other visits, enjoying the relatively flat, low traffic roads.

It's not exactly Clemson/Central area, but you might make some connections through this blog from a cyclist in Greenwood: https://internaldetours.blogspot.com/.

I can't remember his last name, but on Cycle North Carolina a couple years ago I also met a guy named Stu (not a boy named Sue) from Clemson. That's not much to go on, I know, but it's at least a name you might inquire about as you meet other cyclists in the area.

Hey,

Thanks for the replies!

Greenwood is a bit out of range for me..Greenville would be closer and thats already an hour-long car ride with out traffic! I'll check out the CyberSpinners too - a guy in the local bike shop in Clemson mentioned them. With any luck i can get into some sort of shape in the next two weeks to be able to ride with the Clemson Cycling Team...again the guy at the bikeshop said he was working on a new ride-list open to community with them.

Every time I come to Clemson for work I ride the mtn bike with these guys. They are great. I'm sure the road rides are good too.
