live stream (a little late for today...)
but stage 17 is tomorrow!
at https://www.gazzetta.it
I'm not sure if its been discussed here before, but my Italian friend reminded me of this live web coverage. Its in Italian though, but most should be able to follow along.
I posted this in the regular road threads, and thought I'd pass it along for anyone that may be interested. I actually like listening to the Italian color analysts, its pretty exciting!

Hopefully it is better than rai was today - Once they got to the final climb, I could only watch in 4 second increments.

Rai was pathetic today once they hit the climb...would run for 2-3 seconds, then freeze, then go again, freeze, etc. I got so frustrated I shut it off and listened to the radio from Eurosport.

The Gazetta feed is very smooth compared to the RAI feed. Watching the RAI feed can be an exercise in frustration--3 seconds of video and then 10 seconds of buffering. I've yet to had a hiccup in the Gazetta feed. The latter also lets you open in its own window and maximize on the screen.

i posted there as well, but want to run it by here again too. whenever i click on the link for "live video broadcast", all i get is the text updates of the stage. is there something i'm doing wrong, or something i need to do to get the video coverage?

thanks for the link, but the media window pops up, but it doesn't connect. it searches for the server, says its connecting, but then just indicates "ready", but doesn't start playing. i'll try it with realplayer.
edit: ok, realplayer worked, maybe Windows media wouldn't load cause i was listening to the Eurosport feed. only problem is now, i can't mute the audio for realplayer without it affecting my audio from eurosport also. i'll have to play aroiund with this as well, see what i can figure out.
thank you.

2wheeled, thank you so much for the direct link. Eurosport has been a godsend, but there's just a bit of drama missing without the pictures. today was an epic stage, and i was extremely happy to be able to see it. incredible to finally have pictures to go with the audio for the first time in this Giro. Grazie!
and marty, thanks too for the rai link. looks like they may have past stages archived there, which will be nice.
