Guess I just don't have a cyclist body.
Did my first official 100K this weekend, decided to reward my self by buying a jersey at the trade show. Got a Triple X, I normally wear a 1X in cloths. Well this thing is ridicules on me. I can barley get it on and off. It restricts breathing cause its so tight in the chest area. My arms feel like I have a Turniket(SP) on them. why in the hell would they make them so small. My friend that is 6'2 170 skinny as hell, and it fit him perfect. What gives am I just gonna have to stick to T-shirts.
Sorry just had to rant a little, just seems ridicules.

I got some of those and like them. Just wish they had some with pockets.

I have a few of the wicking shirts that I got at Target. They are Champion brand, and work well. I also wish they had some pockets and zippers. I will be buying a jersey or two soon though. I cannot resist the Primal Wear stuff any longer. I also want a Frosted Flakes (Pearl Izumi) jersey, since it will match both my bikes....there's a great reason to spend $60.

I'm 6'3" 215lbs and I wear an XXL in a eurocut.
I suspect the jersey you bought runs very small. You should try something in a larger cut. There are lots of options out there, especially if you consider mountain biking jerseys.

I've had similar problems but not as severe. I've found a few jersies I can wear and I've had to try them all on before buying. What I find funny is that I've not really had much trouble getting shorts to fit, which has always been an issue for me - when I'm in shape I have big @$$ quads. Guess that's just closer to 'cycle body'.

You should try BMX/Motocross jerseys. I have some for BMX racing that are meant to fit over my chest protector. I am 6'6" 235 and usually wear a XXL jersey but my BMX ones in an XXL are huge on me if I wear them as just a regular jersey, they would probably be a good fit on a guy your size.

Sounds like you may have gottten a "race fit" jersey - basically cut for guys that look like TDF material. For the rest of us normal folks, a "club fit" jersey is usually a lot more comfortable.

Thanks for the advice, guess ill go to my LBS and see about trying some on. I think ill just put this one of ebay and see if I can get some of my money back on it. I have some of the wicking shirts I just really want the jersey for the pockets so I can ditch the camel back, it gets really hot wearing it.

Heh heh....I just bought one of those 6xl 'cutter' jerseys from Yellow Jersey(very cool)...and it barely fits me(but it does fit)....I am 6'7" 275 and usually get by with xxl, but using their measurements and giving them my actual measurements, I ordered a 5xl.....they then sent me a 6XL!! I guess someone there must've known something .... I'm glad they subbed it for me

+1 on that. I pay $15 for wicking shorts at local sports stores. I don't own a single jersey, although baj and the historian are working on converting me to the dark side.

Try these from Performance.

I have bought several. They go up to 3x and it's a "true" 3x. Very comfrtable and very affordable.

A lot of it is luck of the draw. I have three jerseys from the same company (from century rides), none of which fits like either of the others. A 2X from this company (Hincapie, so it's mostly race-fit, and I'm nowhere near race fit at 5'9" & 245 lbs) that I bought for another charity ride barely fit over my shoulders, so I donated that to the charity's raffle. A 4X Hincapie jersey I got the next year barely fits; a 3X from the same year (different ride) is larger than the 4X; so I bought a 3X the next time I did a ride that sold souvenir jerseys by Hincapie, and it fits like the abandoned 2X.
My best luck has been with jerseys made by Revi, Voler, and Performance. Their "club" cut/fit really is somewhat close to "standard" American sizing. I wear 2X in all three brands, and all three fit reasonably well.

I did not read the entire thread so this may have already been posted, but I'd look at mountain bike jersey's. They are made a lot looser than road shirts. Most of them have zip pockets. I wear XL T-shirts, but XL and often XXL shirts are just too tight in the arms.
