What road bike do you have?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thanks and don’t disagree on the handlebars, the aero look doesn’t work on this bike very well.

I have been riding a 2011 Felt F55 so a pretty harsh ride. A bit of carbon but not much. That’s now the permanent trainer setup in the pain cave

I’ve never ridden a Felt but my guess is that the transition from an earlier generation Al frame to a Serotta ought to leave you smiling, especially on long rides. Enjoy!

Just got back into road cycling after @ 21 year hiatus (and I wasn't that serious about it the first time around ).

Bought a slightly used 2003 Masi about 6 weeks ago to see if I was going to get the bug again, then bought an immaculate 2007 Titus Modena a couple of weeks later...been loving it so far.

Top: 2007 Avanti San Remo 3x8 53-39-30. Upgrades include cassette, chain, stem, handlebars and saddle. Cassette from 12-25 to 12-32. Saddle to Bontrager WSD. Chain to Sram PC58. Stem from 120mm flat to 70mm riser. Handle bars from 44cm to 36cm. New hb tape. Tiagra comps. CF fork is stock.

Bottom: 1993 Avanti Kona 2x8. 53-42×12-25. 105 comps. Pretty much stock. Purchased from a family whose father bought the bike and never rode it. He passed away suddenly and the bike hung in his workshop for 25 years. The cable covers were dry rotted. The tubes and tires were fine. The tires pictured have been replaced as precaution. It rides beautifully and shifts flawlessly.

edit: front brake cable housing was too short here, and has since been corrected.
LOvely bike, dont replace it with carbon, this is classic!

that tarmac w/ white S-WORKS letters has all the parts needed to complete the build. However, I didn’t want a $12,000 bike as one of my commuters. I’m going to take it to the Bicycle Chain on Franklin St., by the end of this year. I have plenty of other bikes that I’ll be using, once the weather gets warmer.

what the heck did i get myself into

My father just moved to Florida and has given me an old bike he has always used indoors as an exercise bike. He is blind and has raced as a para-cyclist in the 90s Paralympics. Indoor racing, international touring, as well as RAAM twice. All tandem, so he used this as a stationary bike for the house. he has sold all of his high end tandems regrettably. And he was going to sell this one and I refused to let him. I am new to this world but cannot seem to find all the details on this bike. can anyone tell me what I have. And give me a direction to go with this, should I keep it as original and tune it up, or paint it and buy new equipment. I will not be racing with this as I am out of shape haha. just commuting and messing around. I also have the shoes the clip into the peddles.

Cannondale 65810909672 serial number on frame
Shimano durance ace FC-7400 crank
campagnolo front and rear brakes as well as de-railer
3TTT head set and competizone drop bars (black)
FIR wheels
look clip in peddles
shifters located on downtube

sorry no pictures for some reason this site wont allow in until i post 10 times.

Lovely bike! Most bikes' paint jobs from that era have not aged well. This is an exception for sure, looks very classy! That is a bike that will remain classic.
