Chain Tensioner For my Electra Townie Build
Hi, I'm building a old Electra Townie with Bafang BBSHD and a 3sp IGH. I've gotten the chain as properly sized as possible with the very shallow vertical dropouts. Now I am confident to finish this build I need a good chain tensioner that can deal with this setup. I was hoping to have the bike finished today but I don't think thats going to happen now that this came up. Sheldon Brown has a nice in a picture that mounts to a chainstay and I'd love to be unfortunately I haven't made enough posts to post pics or links. Do you all know of one that will mount to the chainstay or another spot that should work?

There are many companies that manufacture chain tensioners (I've used the Surly unit on single-speed bikes), but their performance with the power of a BBSHD may be compromised. Assuming you haven't solved the problem, you might look at Rohloff's since AFAIK it's being used with e-conversions.

For my petrol bike I made a chain tensioner using a V-brake arm with a jockey wheel on it.
