Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Caught my admin vaping in the office again. Big cloud of vapor riding above her cube. She denied it when I told her to stop.

Many Irish surnames have various spellings and even different pronunciations like Rafferty and Raftery, Pendergast, Pendergras, Prendergast, and so on. I don’t think I know of another place of origin that yields as much of that kind of variation. Hanratty is also seen as Henratty, Henretty, Hanretty, etc. But while you think it is a strange name, you should see the Gaelic names it is derived from.

Despite Georgia’s reputation and peach fetish I have found South Carolina to have the best.

One day, I was out in the yard and a cop happened to drive by a couple times and then stopped. He ticketed the car as abandoned with a 10 day notice to get it off the street or license it, otherwise the City was going to tow it.

Luckily, my neighbor had bought the renewal sticker but hadn’t applied it yet. The POS hasn’t been moved yet and that was in June but it does have a proper sticker.

Your state does seen to have a fetish on having the proper stickers for non-moving vehicles.. Experience indicates that the authorities check all plates in the O'Hare parking lots - I suspect for revenue enhancement. Twice they ticketed me and once my step daughter. One time was legit, the others were not. I just paid the fees, my step daughter went through some significant hassle but finally was relieved of the ticket.

At the beach in Delaware. It’s pleasant enough but I don’t really see the allure. At least I got to eat some greasy boardwalk fries. They were good.

I don’t either. I enjoyed it as a kid and when I had a kid to enjoy it with. I wouldn’t go now, unless I had a cool toy like a beach cat.

The beach is full of sand and I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.

You know what's really nice, cooking over a fire on the Oregon coast with 20mph wind and rain. You get a nice exfoliation treatment and then every bite of food you take is crunchy with sand.

Dumb question. Strava app did not record second half of my ride. But I do have whole ride saved in “ride” app as a .fit file, anyone know if easy way to import that file into Strava? I am guessing more hassle than it’s worth.

You should be able to link the Ride app to Strava.

I should but did not turn on the “link” account until after I saved the ride. I don’t see a way to export from ride/import to Strava after the fact.

UPDATE: It's ridiculously easy using the Strava website. Not so easy using the Strava app on the iPhone.

Got a pair of these in today, and another pair en route. Soon I'll have one of them on all my tubeless bikes.

It's a piece of cake. There is an option in Strava to do a manual upload and .fit files are one of the allowed formats. My wife and I often ride together and if one of our files gets corrupted, we just upload the other's good one and delete the bad one if it has already been uploaded..

I've never needed one in the wild, but I keep one of these in my tool box.
