Greetings from New Orleans
42 years old looking to improve my general health and loose some lbs. Just purchased my first two real bikes (couldn’t decide which one to get lol) I’m excited to learn the ropes

Welcome from SW Ohio. Load that bike up in the car and head to Mandeville. The bike trail up there is awesome, as you approach major intersections there are sensors you pass that turn the traffic signals red for car traffic. Even on uncontrolled intersections (for cars) they stop for you anyway so you can continue. Nice area and nice people.

Welcome. Be extremely careful. New Orleans has been the host of some recent biking fatalities. I'm in Slidell and so far have not left my own subdivision since I started biking again in May. The St. Tammany Trace suggestion above is a good one.
