Very nice example of a 1984 Westwood in the Metallic Cinnamon finish and with the relatively rare SunTour Le Tech rear derailleur. The missing pedals were SunTour XC-II. Despite the appearance, the saddle does appear to have been exchanged for something cheaper, as OEM spec was an Avocet Touring.

Correct, I have the XC2 pedals as well. And yes, the saddle is not original. Apparently this was purchased and stored in a bedroom, unridden.

Hello everyone. I have a Nishiki custom sport serial # S1 4B383, I would love to have some info on. I received it as a gift and wondered if it was worth fixing up or keeping as original as possible. I’m too new to post pics yet apparently but it’s in pretty good shape. The tires are 27 1/4. Brakes are Dia-compe. Shimano 600 derailleur. It seems fairly old and I always hesitate to alter anything that’s vintage. Thanks.

Nishiki Forest
I was wondering if anyone has any info on my early 90’s Nishiki Forest mountain bike. I bought it new when I was in the military while I was stationed in South Korea. Serial number is GJO 1270. Is it a Giant frame? Worth holding on to?

Nishiki Intl. saved from the crusher to yard art
Nishiki International / Serial number for T-Mar / KA03088 / Saved the headset, seatpost, handlebars, BB and rusty Suntour Blueline parts....The fork was mangled and the frame is damaged.

Yes, Giant used the same serial number format for both their eponymous branded and contract manufactured frames. The serial number, in conjunction with the Shimano 300EX indcates a 1992 model. FYI, the main triangle is CrMo with CrMO forks but the stays are hi-tensile steel. The missing wheelset employed Shimano 300EX hubs laced to 700C Araya SP30 rims and the rear cogs were 13-26T. FYI, the MSRP was $445 CDN.

I bought this bike new in Spring 1973 and rode it everywhere. Then it hung in the garage for 25 years when life got busy. Now I'm riding it again and thought I'd add it to the database here. The seat, tape, tires, water bottle cage and end clip for the pump are not original, but the rest is. The serial number is KS182164 with a fancy big W underneath. Araya wheels, Suntour GT back derailleur, Sugino Mighty Competition in the front. Kyokuto Pro-Ace pedals, Dia-Compe brakes. Lots of nice details, 19" frame. A pretty little bike.

I have posted about this numerous times in the past. It is the logo for West Coast Cycle (Supply), the owner and distributor of the Nishiki brand in the USA. It is actually a "backwards C" + "W" + "C" compressed into one symmetrical character. As such, it is a stylized version of WCC (West Coast Cycle).
