Censorship

I just absolutely love riding a vintage road bike. The smooth speed and quick response of the steel has to be one of the most enjoyable experiences I know.
I continually get the censored word notification. Is there really one there?

I think you couldn't even post until you removed it if so. It's stubborn that way.

Most saltines are really unsalted tops when you look at the store, it's rather stupid when you rally wanted salty tops.

Did you begin the post, "Dear Penthouse Forum . . ."? Seems kinda smutty when you read it in that context.
I'm serious though, that word filter must have the imagination of an overstimulated 8th grader to think a sentence like that is dirty.

I don't think I've run into the filter yet.
I suppose I have frequently discussed crack and cracks... but never added an er to the end.
Cracker?
Hmm... Ok, so I'm bad at guessing what a saltine is. Not a cracker?
Another website I used would always snag words like PR and create a hyperlink to something absolutely bizarre. And, don't even try talking about insurance.

Fortunately the seeds to make Canola oil doesn't come up very frequently on this website.

Oh... and the lack of humanity.... Don't even think about discussing **** Sapiens. One can't discuss **** Erectus either, but Neanderthals are fair game.

This discussion just reminded me of a hilarious post I saw on another forum years ago:
No **** there I was, thought I was gonna die (laughing) in Mr. B's (one of the Brennans restaurants downtown New Orleans).
Old lady a table or so over is lappin' up a bowl of gumbo, she gets the waiters attention (black guy) she asks him:
"Excuse me sir, do ya"ll serve crackers?
Dude responds with a straight face and all:
"Yes ma'am, we serve everybody."

The filter is preventing my attempted signature change. Let’s see if it will post here (and can anyone tell me what censored word I’ve used; perhaps I’ll see the stars in this post?):
Dave // “Sí mi abuela tuviera ruedas, sería una bicicleta...” (If my grandmother had wheels, she’d be a bicycle)

Sometimes filters dislike things like quotes.
Also the begin/end quotes (first two) can cause problems rather than the simple standard text quotes (last): “” "
Even your apostrophe isn't the standard text. ’ '
If that doesn't make a difference, then I'd look at your accents. í

It's the forward slashes I'll bet, it may see that as resembling malformed hypertext/ a bad URL.

The censor is not too smart. If you have a censored word inside another word, it gets censored. This doesn't happen all that often.
Cracker was used as an insult wayyyy too often in P&R and was put in the censor because of that. This is the reason for a lot of words being in there. I asked for it to be removed, but I didn't know it had happened. I just checked some of the other similar P&R insults and they are still in there, made me laugh. But those are ones that nobody uses outside of an insult.
I have suggested we put "helmet" in the censor, but so far nobody has agreed with me.

Used to be that part of heat gun would get starred out. Let's see if that still happens.
Nope, not any more.
There are other ideas floating around in my head, begging to be tested, but I will exercise some rare self control and allow the moment to pass.

How come the web site r-e-d-d-i-t is a censored word?

because that forum allows spammers to post movies there. "watch full length movie" spam almost always had a reddit link. I tried reporting the threads to management there, I guess they don't care.
I used to laugh when the censor broke their links, they don't try very often anymore. Still happens though
