Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

@jadocs, how do you like the Cygolite Dash? Got one last week and was only able to use it in daytime as a "see-me" light but so far it looks like it'll be a great light!

It’s been great. There’s no denying that the front and rear are bright enough, and have the patterns required to grab a driver’s attention.

Have you considered training for a metric quarter century?

First pair of bibs, Giro Chrono Sport. $60 with no shipping or tax.

Hope the chamois is better than my Specialized Roubaix Sport shorts, where the chamois folds like the roof of a house, and sticks straight out towards the back. Fine on the bike, off the bike, not so much - it's like walking with a house sticking out of your ass.

This.

Pure class and impeccable style. Congratulations. 10/10, would ride.

Matching cap? That would be 11/10.

Please let us know what you think after you get a ride or three in.

I have a Smith Forefront helmet, which is very similar. Unexpectedly, the honeycomb material inside the shell manages to provide better ventilation than my Kask Mojito, although the Kask Mojito fits slightly better. My only measure of this is forehead sweat!

I wasn't aware that the visor was removable so I'll check that out.

@noodle soup pointed me to them, once factoring in shipping, I found them cheapest at Nashbar ($11.98 for one shipped).

@TimothyH you got it. The free matching cap is what sealed the deal for me actually. I've been looking for a technical cap, and being able to get one while getting a new jersey was a no brainer for me. I'll share my impressions after a couple of rides once the jersey arrives.
