Following on to some prior threads ---
let me propose a theoretical situation.

Thinking about 'upgrading' my AustroDaimler Olympian, and since I read in the catalogue, it is the same frameset as the Vent Noir - might as well paint it to look smoke chrome. Current gold decals on Olympian match the VN except for model name on top tube. I like Campy, swap some Huret for Campy call it Vent Noir.

I hear that might make it more desirable.
And I always wanted one in my size but hard to find.

Everybody OK with that???

Frameset matches, paint could match, decals available, a bunch of Campy bits ---
No grinding away, no brazing on, no headbadge swap, no phoney engravings.

waaa-lllahhh --- AustroDaimler Vent Noir.

Do I need to replace the cheapo Sunrace freewheel, and get a gold chain?
It already sports nice vintage Campy/Mavic tubular wheels.
oh - test subject from an old pic that does not have current wheelset

I like your bike much better as is than a Vent Noir but I doubt anybody will care too much if you repaint it.

You could probably find a Vent Noir for cheaper than the cost of a good repaint.

Mixed Campy works well on the Inter 10, as far as I know is a common frame as VN.

Actually I saw more AD Vent Noirs wearing DA than Campy through the years.... and they were original to the bike.
Despite the deeply European sounding brand name (which the use of was dreamt up by the marketing people working for Puch in the US), AD was never reluctant to throw on the best Shimano stuff on their bikes.....unlike a lot of Italian and French bike makers of the time.....

My Inter 10, I think, was equipped with Weinman 605 brakes, Nervar cranks and bb, Normandy hubs, SR gooseneck and SR Royal handlebars, Huret shifters and derailleurs. I believe my Inter 10 is 1981.

What size frame do you ride? I have a 60(61?)cm smoked chrome Vent Noir frame set that needs a new home. Everyone needs two AD's.

Now to re-label my 70s Bottecchia Giro 'd Italia, as a Pro, after swapping in a few more Campi bits.
