Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Maybe it's an East coast mentality, but when my patients ask me about how my kids are doing and I say that daughter #2 is a USC freshman but online from home, they seem to usually think she is enrolled at a school in South Carolina and not California.

p.s. we all wish she could get to LA asap but unclear if/when that might happen

I like the calipers for checking chain length. I never got the hang of and/or appreciation for fountain pens.

For the record, I was forced to use fountain pens from 3rd thru 8th grade and still mostly used them through high school.

I have an online subscription, but a separate subscription is required for the crossword.

BITD, when my main writing instrument was a mechanical pencil, I preferred 0.5mm HB "lead".

Dang.

Have you ever seen the documentary "Wordplay? Good documentary. The second half of the film is set at the 2005 American Crossword Puzzle Tournament. I used to work with the woman who won the C group that year. She appears in the film ever so briefly twice.

Here people disparagingly refer to it as USCjr.

I call her school "University for Spoiled Children." Of course it's the parents' fault.

Oh great. I just heard that because of Laura, the shipping/supply chain for our flu vaccines is delayed by a week. Patients are going to love that.

Maybe concerns about microchips and Deep State Mind Control via the IM route will offset their annoyance.
