Buying from Merlin Cycles

The prices on some items are hard to believe.

Do they actually deliver?

I've had no issues ordering from Merlin. I have not had the need to return anything though, and that is usually where the complaints come from when ordering from an international shop.

I've purchased from them several times and had no issues. Their minimum for free shipping has gone up and I find their shipping is much slower to deliver than some others. I prefer Wiggle since their minimum for free shipping is much lower and it only take 4-5 days to get here usually. But they don't always have what I want or the price is higher.

I purchased from them and didn't have any problem with the order, this was a couple of years ago. I didn't have to return anything so that isn't a problem.

Merlin is one of the last UK sites to still sell Shimano parts to US customers. I ordered an 8000 groupset last year, no problems. No idea if the pandemic has changed their service or shipping time. All was good before.

I have heard the Merlin bikes are pretty nice. Never ridden them though so can't say for sure.

I know that at least some of the Merlin brand bikes are just rebadged Ridleys. Check the UCI sticker on the seat tube and you can see that the manufacture and model from that.

Another happy customer. I've purchased from them several times over the last five or six years. Buying internationally can cause warranty headaches, but I've been lucky and have not had to deal with that.

I haven't seen any new stuff in the wild but the old Merlin Metalworks stuff from back in the Tom Kellog days is awesome. I have a co-worker with one and he loves it and I have been considering one myself.

Pretty sure the OP is talking about Merlin UK - different company. They sell nice bikes, but not as nice as the Tom Kellogg Merlins.

I have spent a ton of money with them. Nothing large like bikes, frames, wheels, etc but i have purchased many groupsets, brake sets, and other stuff and have done well.

I ordered a campy groupset from them in the 1200.00 range, ordered at 1ish am Eastern time on the 29th, parts were on my porch on the 30th, shipping was no joke and insane with DHL which was free of import. UPS hit me up for 3.10 on a recent order, nothing was taxed, they just for their fee for saying it was duty free.

Yes, legit. I bought some Sidi shoes and shimano pedals from them recently. Did take about 10-14 days to arrive, but all good.

That true, I just know that my friend rides one and loves it. Whether it's a Merlin or a rebadged Ridley, he still loves the feel of it.

Digging out this thread.
Huge discount sale going on - just ordered Ultegra pieces (missing the front brake calipers) and some others parts.

I've had a couple more orders since my 2020 post and still no real issues. Little pivved with them right now, I'd like to order a Merlin Malt cyclocross frameset from them for my middle kid and their website won't allow the frame to be shipped to the US. Can ship a whole bike which doesn't have a bad price till the 360.00 shipping is tacked on. Weird considering their steel gravel frame will ship to the US. But I've got to stock up on tires and tubes before the season hits so I know another order will be on its way.
