Tour d' Organics century (Portland/Vancouver)

Hello fellow riders-

Just wanted to let you know about a really great ride, Tour d' Organics, that my cycling team is organizing for September 6th. This is a fully supported, organized ride with rest stops at local organic farms. This year we are leaving from the EcoTrust building in the Pearl District (Portland), and going North to explore Clark County for the surprising number of organic farms in that area. There are 35, 65, and 100 mile ride options, and all are mostly flat. For the 65 and 100 mile rides we will be serving a mid-ride organic buffet from Papa G's, and there will be a gourmet organic meal at the finish line for all provided by Blossoming Lotus. Rest stops will be stocked with energy bars, water/energy drink, and fresh organic produce from the farms.

This is going to be a great ride - If you'd like to join in on the fun, make sure to register soon on-line, and also make sure to gather some friends to sign up and ride, too. This ride is a fundraiser for our team, so we're hoping to get as many people out there as possible. If you know anyone else that might be interested, please pass this on to them.

Ride on!

Sounds like a great ride. If it were not the beginning of Cycle Oregon that weekend, I would be there. I realize that basically any date will conflict with SOMETHING, but maybe next you the organizers could watch for that coflict.

Hope I can do this ride in the future, sounds really fun.

Yeah, I know what you mean- Looking at the schedules there really were conflicts on just about every weekend through the summer. Anyways, if you know anyone else that might be interested, please pass it along-

Have fun at Cycle Oregon!

Do you know if there's a way to join the ride (with fees paid of course!) in Vancouver?

Since I already live up there (almost to Salmon Creek), it makes little sense to bike all the way down to NW Portland and then back up.

Yeah that really shouldn't be an issue, if you want to e-mail or IM me I'll make sure that we get hooked up with you in Vancouver. We will be stopping at the Vancouver farmer's market, along with a few farms right in Vancouver and up towards Salmon Creek. It would be great to have you!

...Just a reminder to register for the ride soon if you are interested. We keep getting more businesses on board to help out. New additions: Dave's Killer Bread will be supplying bread items, Raw Revolution is donating 300 food bars, and Keen Footwear has offered to donate products that we will give away in a raffle. It'll be fun, get some friends to ride along, too!

Do you guys have the 100 mile map ready? I am a nerd and want to check out the route before I register. The 65 mile route looks like it goes right through my town.

I can't seem to find the map of the exact route for the 100 miler, but I know it's mostly the 65 mile route, but then goes a bit further NE. We will be marking the course this weekend, if I get ahold of the mapped route I'll let you know.

Here's a map with all the farms:
