Apologies for the cross-posting.

Sadly, this bike is too small for me so it's time to let it go. The bike has been completely rebuilt and is Eroica-ready.

The seat tube measures 54cm c-t and the top tube is 55cm c-c.

1976 was the last year they offered Huret derailleurs on this model. This one has the coveted long-cage Huret Jubilé rear derailleur, which at 145g was the lightest touring derailleur of it's day (see Huret Jubilee derailleur (2248)). Slap a new freewheel on it for Eroica and you will be ready to tackle any roads and hills.

The Grand Jubilé was right in the middle of their line up for 1976 and the relaxed geometry makes for a very pleasant ride. This is a great candidate for 650b conversion as well.

I completely overhauled it with framesaver, Meguiar’s Scratch-X, and wax. Then I installed new cables and housing and rebuilt the pedals, bottom bracket, and headset. Everything was lubed and greased. My LBS checked everything and made some minor adjustments to the brakes and derailleurs to finish it off.

This bike is 100% original except for an upgraded wheelset. The component list is attached from the catalog scan, but here it is:

This is the original bar tape with Motobecane bar end plugs.

Currently this has Mavic Module E rims laced to Campagnolo Nuovo Record hubs with cushy 27 1/8” Pasela Panaracers. I will knock $200 off the price if you don’t want the wheels.

I'm asking $550 or $350 without the wheelset. My strong preference is to sell it locally in the San Francisco Bay Area, but I will consider bikeflights.

Those tires are 27 x 1-1/8? They look bigger. In any case, thats a nice bike!

I’m surprised that I only got a few bites on this classic French bike. I’ve seen several in not nearly as nice a shape list for more on feeBay, where unfortunately it looks like this bike is going to end up. Maybe I should wait until after the new year.

If it were a 57 and I didn't already have one, I'd be interested. It's a very nice bike and for that price in that condition with that rear derailleur I can't believe people aren't knocking down your door.

Like everything on eBay, what people are asking and what they actually sell for are completely different. They could ask the moon and it doesn't make any difference. A review of the sold listings indicates that only one has sold the past 90 days and he accepted a lower offer. So who knows how much it sold for.
