Value of 1970s Schwinn Paramount [or?]
Hi, I'm trying to get an idea what my old 70's Schwinn Paramount frame might be worth. Exact year I don't' know. It's an almost complete bike but a Frankenstein component-wise. It's been repainted twice, no decals. Currently a two-tone British Racing Green (head tube is darker green). Silca pump matches head tube, painted and canti braze-ons added by Chris Kelly. I plan to offer it as a frameset only.
Caveat - the little I've researched, the serial number doesn't match online info related to Paramounts. What else could it be? KPD1650K
Does anyone know how I can include photos? I keep getting an error message - "no url's till you've done 10 posts", but as you see there are no url's in this post...? And the Help is no help!

This is different. I don't think all of the parts are stock especially that RD and crank. It is in pretty rough shape and that will seriously effect value.

That s/n is not right, it may be a substitute for the original one, this was sometimes done on bikes that had the s/n removed so a new one was created and stamped where most normally are.
the original should be on the outside of the NDS rear dropout, if it is gone it severely diminishes the value and this one is already very challenged

The number on the bottom bracket may be a licensing ID from a police department in a town beginning with the letter "K" i.e. "Knoxville Police Department."

Good call Brent, I didn't put KPD together but that's what I was getting at.
I talked to a guy with a chrome Paramount that he had cleared and renumbered by a PD back east somewhere but he didn't still have the paperwork.
I told him that could have sold me on it and he said he understood all that.
It was priced right but way out of town so I didn't get there, yet.

What is the size of the bike? And are the wheels 700c or 27"?

It's a 21" frame with 27" wheels. The white stuff is from riding in the desert - I just have to give it a thorough washing, so please ignore the dust and slightly rusty components.

+10 If there is no non-drive serial number, it could be anything. Rough condition, plus odd mix of parts = $150.
Tip: even the steer tube on the 1970s had a matching serial number on it. So if it is a Paramount, the steer tube WILL be marked. Highly doubtful anyone dug that deep to obliterate serial number.

OP, What others have sais....all P's had the serial number stamped on the rear stay, with matching number on the fork...any numbers there?

Get the serial number questions answered (fork and non drive side drop out) and value could go up! A real Paramount in poor condition will have more value than an unidentified bike.

In my opinion, even if we can't determine what it is, the frame set is probably worth around $100. If it's a Paramount, more.
