Older guy bike shorts problem

Ok, I'm 66 and gravity has worked on the 'boys' to the extent that they are hangin pretty low.
So, when I put on my spandex I have to reach down and move them forward and up so as not to be uncomfortable when
sitting at a relaxed posture. Problem is that Mr. Johnson is then raised to where he is peeking his head over the top of chamois seam. The seam causes irritation in this sensitive area.
I often have to do some on the road adjustments to get everybody in place for a comfortable ride.
Anyone else have this problem?
I'm wondering if there are some shorts where the chamois comes up a little higher in the front.
So far I have tried Pear Izumi attack, Pearl Izumi In R cool, and Descente AeroX.
bike shorts can be expensive so I would like to get some recommendations before trying another pair.
thanks.

Stop bragging....

Maybe you just need a different brand of shorts with a larger chamois.

You might also try bibs.

Before I got rid of "the boys" due to prostate cancer, the best shorts I found were Sugoi with the RC Pro Chamois. SOOOOO GOOD! Now the shorts are even more comfortable.....;0)

Bibs for sure. Everything gets pulled up nice and tight.

There's a reason the Pro's all wear bibs.

Simple solution is to cut a small piece of chamois or terry, and tuck it into your shorts to bridge the critical area.

Another vote for bibs. I'm 71. Been wearing bibs for 10+ years.

I ride in P.I. Attack shorts, and I just move them up and to the right, then do some minor tucking to finish the job.

I almost crashed last fall doing a mid ride "adjustment". I was standing on the right pedal and was doing the twist to get things right and twisted out of my pedal, which caused me to drop on my saddle, causing a pretty dramatic wobble down a mup for a bit.

Now I do my adjusting in a bathroom.

LOL, Yes I do need a different brand of shorts. As for bibs...............man, that would be a huge move for me, I'm really looking to try a different brand of shorts first.

Unless you have the abs of a 30 year old, G-D bless you if you do, then bibs will keep the top of the shorts from rolling down.

They are also very slimming.

Ah geez, I was told I would be wearing "bibs" when I got older...

Seriously, I have one pair and I do see their draw; comfort with no tightness around the waist like some shorts give. The only downfall is when nature calls and you're on the road...

I only wear bibs. You just pull down the front to take a leak, the hassle comes when you need to take a dump. And don't even think about fussing about that around lady cyclists - they go through this every time they need to use the bathroom!

Just wondering if anyone recommending bibs ever gave Sugoi shorts a try???? A 64yo MALE friend who looks 11 months pregnant with triplets wears Sugoi shorts and finds that they work better than the different bibs he tried. More comfortable especially when comfort break time comes and he takes more breaks than me even though I am the one with the prostate issues.

I've never tried them. For me, this is one of those "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" things.

Simple solution. Put the shorts on back to front so the bigger chamois is at the front. Since old men's derrieres often shrink with age it should solve both problems.

Excellent suggestion, but upon further thought it occurs to me that I look ridiculous enough just wearing spandex.
Wearing padded spandex backwards would likely result in me being placed for "observation"

Until you find shorts that work, a Band-Aid over the sensitive area will provide some relief. It's the same solution that runners use for their raw nipples.

It's those time when you truly appreciate a jersey with a full zipper. And a hook in the porta-potty.

+1. I have never understood people who say they have a problem peeing while wearing bibs. And as noted, for occasions where you have to take a dump, a full-zip jersey comes in very handy. When I tour, at least one of my two jerseys will be full-zip.

I'm 67 and am a bib convert! Would never go back to regular shorts! I find that bibs eliminate any waist pinch issues and I don't have to worry about my shirt riding up my back. No more gaposis!

I have a pair of Bellwether shorts that fit fine when I bought them. After many washings, they have lost their compression and droop along the chamois area. I don't want to get rid of them because they are fairly new and were in the mid price range. This part will cause controversy but my solution was to wear Under Armor compression shorts underneath. They keep the boys up and out of the way, they wick perspiration from your body to the shorts and they supply the compression I lost from the shorts. The seams are flat and don't interfere with where your sit bones touch the saddle. I only wear them with these shorts since my PI shorts fit as they should. I've had no problems with chafing when wearing them, even on 50+ mile rides.
