Do you wear sunglasses?
Just want a quick poll for you guys. I just see tons of people wearing sunglasses and I was wondering how many people ride without them. I use prescription glasses so I don't wear sunglasses.

I would wear sunglasses if I didn't need to wear regular eyeglasses. Someday, I'm going to get some prescription sunglasses.

I were cycling specific glasses.
Most of the time, Oakley Flak Jacket XLJ (for very sunny days).
On overcast days, I use my Tifosi Fototec Logics
(which get darker or lighter as needed).
Tifosi seems to have some wicked new designs for 2012 coming out
and Oakley will be putting out a lot more lower priced options as well.

If I'm outside, and the sun's up, I have sunglasses on.

once you try a god pair of sunglasses it's hard to go back. In general eye protection is important IMO, at night I wear clear lenses just to keep wind and crap out of my eyes.

I mostly like sunglasses while descending. The wind makes my eyes water. But I wear them pretty much all the time.
I have no need to block UV rays with my sunglasses though. My contacts stop 99.9% of them.

Yep. I can't go back to cheapie-cheapie eyewear anymore.
Quality becomes apparent at the 20th mile.
You begin to notice some things. No fogging. No sweat staining.
No discomfort on the bridge of your nose or on your temples.
Then, $40. doesn't seem like much for a decent set of glasses.
[Until you try on a pair of Oakleys that is, then the $40.
pair becomes the cheapie-cheapie pair of glasses! ]
Oakley. Is. Good.

This poll is missing the "I wear sunglasses, but only when the sun is out" option.
But seriously - I like my jawbones with the prescription lenses so much I'm going to get some prescription clear lenses cut and maybe persimmon as well (good for dusk and dawn).

The one time I went riding without sunglasses I caught a bug in my eye. Never again. Even at night I'll use clear lenses.

I use prescription glasses and I wear sunglasses. I have 3 pairs of glasses. One pair is larger than the other two and has transition lenses. Most of the time I wear them when I cycle, although it does depend a bit on the environmental conditions and whether or not I remember to change my glasses before I head out.

Jawbones. Wouldn't ride without eye protection just like I wouldn't ride without a helmet.
You ever go downhill at 40mph and get hit by some bug right in the glasses? I have. Multiple times. Sometimes hard enough to knock my head back and make me check my lens.

I just wear the Performace Bike house brand, usually with the clear lenses. If it is foggy out on the morning ride I may ditch them (no windshield wipers) after I get down the hill. Expensive glasses always seem to get broken or lost at my house.

I wear prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses so I tend to wear my sunglasses depending on the weather and riding conditions. I always wear either my regular or my sunglasses. When I wear my sunglasses and I know I will be stopping somewhere where I need to actually READ I will carry my regular eyeglasses wrapped up in a microfibre rag stuffed into one of my water bottles. My regular glasses are bifocals and I cannot read with my sunglasses (well I can read road signs and such but not anything small), It sometimes is a pain but I deal with it.
Cheers,
Brian J.
