IME and I'm alergic, in Oregon poison oak is dark, waxy, shiny and look very much like oak tree leaves. Don't see it here.

The frame is a 60 cm 1985 model PSN-10, French Super Vitus 980 steel. The pic was taken after the 2013 Inspiration 100 gravel race here in Minnesota. I've since passed it along to my son who rides it with road tires all over Minneapolis.

an heirloom, for sure, eh? thanks for replying! i'm gonna have to keep an eye out for a 55-56cm. that's a goodly amount of clearance for a road racer. in which case, i wonder how well a PSN would fair as a 650b convert

This is my 90s Crossroads rebuild using parts from various places (including a '92 Bridgestone XO-2 that was too small for me). I will eventually replace the frame with either a new frameset (like the VO Campeur) or try to score a nice lugged touring frame somewhere. I have yet to "grind gravel" with it, tho.

Another Cino entry, so it must be a gravel bike. 38mm tires, triple crank, low trail: check, check & check. 1973 Nishiki Semi Pro.

Just scrolled thru this thread again. Interesting to see how my gravel riding has changed thru the last 5 years.
The one constant has been tires that are at least 40mm wide to comfortably handle the endless gravel roads around me.

Started with a way too small Univega hybrid frame that I threw drop bars and bar end shifters on to see if I even liked gravel riding. Rode that for a couple years and it helped me figure out what I wanted next.

Then bought a Black Mountain Cycles frameset and transferred some components to it from the Univega, while going new with the rest. That was fantastic for 3+ years of gravel and family riding. It's now set up with front and rear racks and is used on rare days when I can ride to work.

Couple months ago I got a Fairlight Secan frameset because I wanted to try some modern tech and more aggressive geometry. It's an 853 main triangle with shaped stays and has a carbon fork, thru axles, and flatmount disc brakes. Its built half with components from the old gravel bike and half with new components.

Cool bike. I remembers versions 1 and 2 of your gravel bikes. Is that a Jandd mountain wedge 3? That is a fine rear bag but you're not using it with the stabilizer straps? I like the brooks saddle as well.

My XO 2 which I use as a gravel grinder is out of commission until I get around to building new wheels for it. I'm working on a '93 Trek 950 that I'll build into a gravel grinder with trekking bars. I've wanted to try that combo--a vintage MTB with butterfly bars--for a while as a gravel bike. I'm running similar width tires (26 x 1.75 continental travel contact tires) on that bike.

Funny mention as a couple weeks ago in was decluttering my bike workbench and came across the straps, but couldn't place what they were. Even texted a couple people asking if the straps were theirs. Took a day to remember!
I haven't used the straps as the bag doesnt seem to sway too much, at least it isn't noticable to me.
I do now once again have the straps though. I guess if I carry some heavy stuff, i would want the straps.

I had a white one like this converted to drop bars for winter riding in Minneapolis in the late 90s. Got it from a roadie who had built it up for winter training with early 90s 105. I rode it into the ground for two years, then loaned it to a friend for a year, and then gave it to a neighbor when we moved a couple years later. Lots of miles. I remember the long top tube and how it reminded me of the Surly i got later. Cool!

1986 Trek 520, just finished! The tires are 700x35 Ritchey Speedmax Cross tires that came on a Miyata Triplecross that I'm finishing up too. Component group is 105 from a Nishiki donor, except the 600 calipers, which were needed for their reach.

Since my last post above my setup migrated to a new old frame as seen in other threads, a chrome 1970 Raleigh Pro Mk. I. It's even better than the International was in this mode.

Agreed. There’s another Trek in the house, but it is 10% of the sex. The bronze wheels do it for me too, and I was sure they weren’t right for this bike.

Even the black sidewalls are awesome, and I typically default to gumwalls on vintage bikes. Sometimes you just gotta try something different to know if you like it or not.
