On Line Retailers
I try to use my LBS but sometimes he tells me to shop on line. Especially for clothes. I have been using Bicycle Warehouse and have been pleased with their service but I need to look somewhere else for a few items. What are some popular, reliable, reasonable in price retailers on line for parts, clothing, etc.?

If you work with a backcountry.com "gearhead" account rep they will give you free two day shipping on anything, no minimum, and free UPS shipping labels to return items.

Usually Amazon for parts, even tires, free shipping on most, with Prime.
Voler or Nashbar for clothing and wearables, though I haven't used Nashbar lately, since their re-birth. I used to like Art's Cyclery, but they have kind of disappeared.

Universal cycles
Backcountry
Jenson
Evan's
Merlin
Ebay
Amazon
REI
Wiggle
And many more.
I find going the product is better than going to each website and searching for something. Use the power of aggregation for faster, simpler, and cheaper shopping.

I like BikeTiresDirect.com but they are hit or miss (They do more than tires)
They may have the tire you want, but only with the reflective stripe, or the gloves you want, but not in your size
When they have what you want though, they are usually priced great. Plus they have a deal of the day they email you every day at 4pm (eastern) that is always a big discount of retail. Sometimes it's something cheap and pointless (but at a great price) sometimes it's old inventory they are trying to move out but sometimes it's that one thing you have been looking for and it's a killer price
Bought a set of tires once that way

I took a risk and won out fine on some Planet X stuff. They also carry some name brand stuff and not just their "open mold" chinese stuff.
I have a set of their aero handle bars that you can't buy the stem for anymore. I used a Profile Aeria stem I sanded a touch and it looks the business.

I usually choose a couple of target items that I need, then hunt for them on the internet at reasonable prices. Then usually add a couple of additional items to the order.
