This was sitting in my garage in a box for over a year. I finally got off my lazy butt and finished it last night.

That's a real looker abarth - and I can attest to it's being a great ride as well, and even if the Jubile derailleurs are a little "sketchy" at times, nothing else looks so cool!
BTW - You have one of the only Jubile FD's without a cracked clamp in existence. Treat it with kid gloves.

It seems like only French C&V bikes can dare wear a Jubilee derailleur set. French bikes seem to always look even better with them, while it would certainly be questioned on any other bike from another country.
I always wanted one since the 80's but my LBS always seemed to discourage me and my cycling and my brother from buying one even though they sell it. For some reason we always came in with money in our pocket ready to buy the Jubilee derailleur and end up walking out of the shop usually with a Campy NR RD...which IIRC, was cheaper than the Jubilee so I can never figure out why the LBS never pushed the Jubilee on us even when they knew that we were French bike fans.... and now, I can't afford them again!
I'm sure that there will still be a Jubilee derailleur in my future though...

They are getting close to becoming affordable. The price went from about $120 for the rear derailleur to about $70 on ebay recently.

The Jubilee is an elegant piece of work but is known to be fragile if abused... I bet those Campagnolo NR's which looked brutish compared the the Huret are still functioning well regardless of the abuse they have seen.

Back in the 80's the NR was not an inexpensive derailleur... think they sold for around $40.00 new.

The NR I walked out of that LBS with in the 80's cost me 46 bucks out the door, IIRC. The Jubilees they were selling back then were around 70-80 bucks, certainly more expensive than the NRs........ I never tried out a Jubilee derailleur, but despite my questioning the merits of not having teeth on its jockey wheels, I always suspected the Jubilees work well enough not to end up being generally hated by the C&V community like the Alvit........or could it be its ultra "weight weenieism", which was always it's biggest selling point with the bike shops, saved and continuing to save it from that fate??

Here's my '73 (?) Gitane TDF. The original owner swapped the derailleurs to NR when he bought it from the store, according to the previous owner.

I think that most of the Huret Alvits that were made should still be working... Huret really worked both sides of the coin in making little masterpieces like the Jubilee and the rock crusher that is the Alvit.

The Alvit was a derailleur for the masses.

I just grabbed a long-cage Jubilee RD on eBay for $80 last week. I'm looking for a matching FD, and then I'm planning on putting it on my Bridgestone RB-T with a Stronglight Cyclotouriste crank and Simplex retrofrictions. Hopefully that's not too blasphemous (or difficult to install).

Bridgestones are great bikes and can definitely wear French stuff as long as you watch out for threading issues, but be ready for the probable "Crepe Shushiette" jokes from the Francophiles.....

If you are planning on getting the Jubile FD, just make sure you buy one with a 28.6mm clamp and not 28mm.

It will take the kink out of that front brake cable if you correctly run it behind the bar.

It's starting to look decent...

The levers are definitely too far down on the bars and the routing needs to be addressed, but other than that...I'd say it's looking pretty good. The seatpost design is probably one of the most annoying I've ever seen, especially without using a Brooks on there.

?

NR was stock on that moto, both derailleurs. It also came stock with a Campagnolo cable guide and Campy drops.

I'm not (I use an iPhone for photos no less)...and it was dark, which made it worse. I'll try and get some better ones tomorrow morning.

That's a fine gentleman's bicycle you have there, Mr. Snake. Is that a 7 speed fw?
