Got some money for selling a bike part and got Socks six cans of her favorite cat food (gravy man, she digs it), fed myself at a couple-three little stop along the way and checked out the thrift stores for Christmas ideas then stopped at the grocery store next door and bought a can of green beans (my favorite) and went home with two cents for an opinion.

That takes me all the way across the west side of town, over five miles round trip and away from the freeway.

Took a trip downtown (8 miles round trip) and decided to do a little sight seeing. Some of the paths that you obviously cannot drive on and being able to mobe as fast or as slow as I wanted to enjoy the city. Snagged a nice Nitro cold brew from a local skate shop and got offered to drop in on their mini-ramp (im too old). Was able to breathe in some fresh air and take a handful of cool iPhone pics of my ride along the river.

Sunday -- I ran the local Fun Run ... only 5 km but it was my fastest 5 km.

Temp started at about 10C and cooled off to about 8C with a "feels like" temp around 3C.

Fun Run Results:
Total Distance: 5.25km
Time: 36:11
Overall Place: 160/278
Gender Place: 66/153
Division Place: 8/20 ... division is age group + gender.

And I wasn't in the oldest age group, there were people in the 70-79 age group running/walking as well.

It rained, fairly heavily at times, while I was waiting to start, so a bunch of us were huddled in the building where they handed out the numbers. Then the sun came out and I jogged down to the start. The sun stayed out throughout the run and I discovered I was actually overdressed. Even though it was quite chilly, running + sunshine makes me very warm.

The last bit of the run was along a beach, on the sand, so that slowed me down a little bit ... but it was all right. And I was looking up along the edge to see Rowan, and there he was!

I've walked/ran 1021.91 km so far!

Lots of it has been utility walking ... but some has been training or for fun. Especially the running.

And this evening, Rowan and I did what a lot of people in our neighbourhood do ... we walked to the little local grocery store to pick up a few things.

It was nice to do that again ... and in daylight!! LOVE DST!!!

YTD for the past 4 years.

Friday, 13 November 2015 ... 938.90
Sunday, 13 November 2016 ... 923.12
Monday, 13 November 2017 ... 1055.32
Tuesday, 13 November 2018 ... 1147.46

Tonight Rowan and I walked to the beach, along the beach, up to the local grocery to collect some dinner, and home. I think that might be the longest evening walk Rowan has done since the accident.

Today, Rowan was dropped off at the Botanical Gardens, and I walked up to meet him. We had a lovely time walking around, then we walked up to the Athletic Centre for a presentation on increasing running speed (I'm training for a half-marathon). That was quite interesting! From there we walked into town to catch the bus ... and then home from the bus.

All up, Rowan walked 4.5 km!!

I did a bit more because I walked from the city to the Botanical Gardens.

Right now I'm just working to not have to use a broom or sponge mop as a crutch because I'm recovering from back pain. I make it to the cat feeder and mailbox and about the house some.

I've covered 8.6 km so far today ... all utility walking.

Bus into town ... walk to a meeting up north. Walk to the uni after the meeting and walk to catch the bus home. Plus, of course the walks to/from the bus at the home end of things.

It's a beautiful day out there ... 30C

And I was carrying my backpack the whole way.

Not a bad workout.

Just went to a nearby park to get some pics of my bike in the snow. A fairly short ride, but a ride none the less.

Took a spin down our Main Street...dropped a FedEx package off, picked up my wife's photos at Walgreens, and grabbed a hot chocolate at the local coffee shop on the way home. Later on I rode my bike to the train station to get to work.

Went for a spin around town in yesterday's (mostly unplowed) snow, then stopped by the office to pick up a few things.

I got to leave the first tracks of the year in the bike parking area, and added something special (The bike in the background is not mine, just an abandoned college student bike)
