Not Vintage , But Definitely Classic

I would have built mine with fat 700’s if I had known they fit so well. A nice looking bike that will be responsive but comfy to ride. The long stem is calling to me...
I used Velocity Atlas rims and Pari-Moto 650B tires. Took it for the first outside ride yesterday (15km), so we’re still getting used to each other. No parts were left behind on the rail trail which is a bonus for my first ever build. I’ll post some pictures once I hit 10.

The rims I wanted weren’t in stock, so it was a long lead time to get them built. Velocity was upfront about the delivery date and everything worked out to expectation. I would recommend Velocity and would reorder in the future for sure.
I got a Carradice Barley bag and mounted it on the handlebars.
FYI, the steering was squirrelly on mine with any weight in the handlebar bag. Soma mentioned this on the Stanyan specs page so I guess I just flew too close to the sun. It has a fork rack installed now but I still have to find a small bag and test out the handling.

That is actually good to know , however the bike doesn’t have a low trail fork , that may be a consequence of having the bike since I think SOMA doesn’t currently offer a low trail fork with a one inch steerer tube

Today I finally had a chance to go for a ride outside of town , so I went to Monmouth and enjoyed a burger at Burgerville . I stopped at Eola Hills to snap this photo ... They are accepting early bird registrations for the Wine Country Tour... Anyone want to do the ride C&V style ?
