There were lots of these in shops back in the day but you almost never see them on the used market. They also made them with rear suspension.

Bike-E Recumbent bicycle - $250 (Hopewell)

bicycle type: recumbent/trike
condition: good
frame size: 16"
make / manufacturer: Bike-E
wheel size: 14 in

Very clean Bike E recumbent bicycle from late 90s I think. Blue paint on aluminum frame is not even oxidized - looks great. Gears shift smoothly although the internal rear hub shifting (left handlebar shifter) is a bit stiff since I don't use it much. This bike is very comfortable, light (29 lbs), and quite easy to ride - your rea-end will "Never" hurt in this seat either! This model Bike-E does Not have that little shock suspension under the seat. Feel free to make me an offer too but No low ball offers please.

You got it - '84 Vagabond. Mangalite tubing with that running gear is a dead gievaway. PB14 a year or two before also used same and is quite similar as far as frame amenities go. Rare, but still uses a swaged crank, IIRC. Price is right for condition and what it is.

Specs say the crank is a Stronglight 99 and we have one just like it (satin finished Peugeot-branded later version 99) on my wife's Chiorda-turned-MTB. The centerpull bike I posted must be older than your catalog canti version (cantileversion?). I've only ever seen one in the metal, sold at a Burlington VT shop I worked at.

You're right. I didn't notice the cantis, I was just looking at the pic. I swore the crankset there was the Peugeot-branded crankset which was used on the PH10 variants of the early-mid 80s. Looking at the pics on both, it looks like it is actually a 99.

'83 UO 14 is a better match due to brakes, but you already said that I overlooked it because it lacked the Mangalite sticker on the ST and was convinced it was an '84.

Nishiki Cresta Touring Bike - $150 (Groton, MA)

Customized Nishiki Cresta Touring Bike

I bought this bike new but seldom rode it. I love the way it feels and handles but shortly after I bought it, I bought a hybrid with wider tires since we moved next to a unpaved bike trail. When it was new, I upgraded the bike with more gears than the Crestas were coming with and raised the handle bar for more comfortable riding. The tires are high pressure, puncture resistant. It also comes with the origial rear rack. It rides great and there are only a couple of small scratches.

Features:
Suntour mountek derailleurs
21 speed (3 X 7)
Handlebar extender and extra cushioning - for more comfortable distance rides
Rear rack
Panaracer Pasela 27x1 1/8 puncture resistant tires 105 psi - recently purchased
3 water bottle mounts
Chrome Moly, Double butted frame
Avocet touring 1 seat
25 " (63 cm) frame - for tall person with long legs (probably for 6' or over)

Serious inquiries only. Cash only, no checks. No holds.

That might have been a great deal. Ebay is (more) annoying now in that they take you to a "similar" bike instead of the one of interest if the auction has ended. Anyway, I have the same bike with the spray on "Francesco Moser" logo instead of F. Moser. They don't pop up very often and I'd like to compare notes if someone here got it.

+1; I wish there were a switch to turn that "feature" off. But near the top it says "The listing you're looking for is no longer available blah blah blah....", and the word "listing" is a link back to the original item. Kind of a PITA, but at least "ya can get they-ah from he-ah".

Exactly what I was coming to post. The word Listing is linked. Click it, then you need to scroll down (past all the garbage) on the page it takes you to.

Oh and @Spaghetti Legs there were 0 bids, so you may want to save a search on the seller if you're interested during re-list. It's listed at least a couple of times with no buyers. I'm pretty surprised. Looks like it's a better model than the Sprint, but lesser than the Super Sprint.

The auction has two crappy pictures and a total of 7 words. Do people think they will sell anything that way?
