So now I'm 50. Don't feel different. For those not familiar with me...I post mostly in the Clyde/Athena forum. I'm currently training for the AIDS Lifecycle from San Francisco to Los Angeles this coming June.

Happy birthday, and welcome. Not unusual that you wouldn't feel any different. You were only one day older than you were the day before you turned 50. It's just a number.
61 here, still feel like a kid. Well, a slow kid that gets tired easily.

Wait, you've been 50 for three whole days and haven't keeled over from old age yet? Wow! An auspicious start!

Just kidding. Welcome to the club! A great bunch of guys and gals here, and now you're lucky enough to be able to hang out with them, too!

That's because you're still bicycling.

You don't stop bicycling because you get old, you get old because you stop bicycling.

Hey Beachgrad05, congratulations on your newly found decrepitude. You DID get your 50-mile birthday bikeride in, correct?
I assume your mailbox has already been stuffed with AARP solicitations. Those will continue unrelentlessly until you cave in and sign up.
If you think those are bad, just wait until you get the targeted mailings for pre-paid funeral expenses.

Oh, and that pie thing ... my favorite is strawberry-rhubarb pie with a big scoop of ice cream, without the pie. Pumpkin pie is swell. Key lime and Margarita pie are exceptions to the ice cream rule.
50 candles do not belong in a pie, either. Chocolate cake and ice cream are where they belong.
Don't listen to those old people telling you their old fart stories about how life isn't worth living without pie. Beer, maybe.

I wonder which would happen to the Post Office without AARP. I'm thinking it would either fade completely away or else become profitable.

AT&T touting U-Verse and CitiBank with their credit card offerings equally support the USPS and the logging industry killing trees.
We're off-topic ...
I bet OP is off riding her bike as I should be also, but yesterday's rigor is today's rigor mortis.
Longer recovery rates is another thing to look forward to after hitting big five-O. Pie or ice cream doesn't really help with it.
