Greetings from an Older rider in Colorado

Hi-another old fart or rather fartess!
This is Susan from Northern Colorado.
Been riding bikes since I was 5 or 6 years old. I am almost 69. I am a casual rider- now I stick mostly to bike paths.
I can remember the brands/types of most all of the bikes I have had except the first 20" one I got in first grade & a beater English bike I bought in 1971 at a garage sale

1954 20" bike - blue - my first two-wheeler!
1957 or 1958 24" Rollfast - blue & white (likely given to a cousin or other relative by my parents)
1960's era English racer (possibly a Raleigh)3 speed bike (my first with hand brakes)- black
1972 CNC Special Ten Speed - white - lent to a friend and it was later stolen from her porch Loved that bike!
1989 Trek Antelope 800 ecru & blue (stolen)
1995 Trek 820- blue/indigo (still have)
2010 Giant Cypress - metallic white (sold)
2017 Trek Neko 1 - "dark aquatic "(my new bike)

Yes, but can you remember what you walked into the kitchen to get?

Welcome to Bikeforums, and 50+! Sounds like you may have some great bike stories!

Greetings and welcome Susan. I confess that I cannot tell you what bikes I had as a kid, but I do remember having a sting-ray bike with a banana seat :-) Northern Colorado is a great place for cycling, isn't it? -- Fort Collins had their bike-to-work day yesterday, with free breakfasts all over town, and it's a lot of fun every year. My daughter pointed out, "But you're retired now", to which the correct response was "So what?".

Welcome? I just back to NC from riding two weeks on the roads in SW Colorado. A great state for cycling!

Wife & I get out to Grand Junction every couple of years to visit with her stepfather.

Welcome.
Older bikes are cool (I hope!).
In the over 65 crowd, who cares what's cool, only what works well and brings smiles.

I missed today's "bike to work" -- actually I saw one ad that said "bike to anywhere", so anyone biking to do errands was welcome.
Yes Fort Collins is a great biking town, lots of beautiful bike paths.
I see you have one of those awesome bamboo bikes.

Hi all. I'm in the 50+ zone (57) and moved from the Kansas City area to the Roaring Fork Valley 3 months ago. We live halfway between Glenwood Springs and Carbondale. My wife and I were not bike riders, but it seems we're the only people in the county that don't have/ride bikes. So we took the plunge last week and ordered a pair of Specialized hybrid bikes, a Sirrus for me and a Vita for her. There are miles and miles of spectacular bike paths for us to explore and we're super-excited to get started.

You have passed the first test by ordering your bikes -- Congratulations. Owning a bike is not actually mandatory in Colorado, yet. But hiking boots might be
