Foxy's is great. I have done it 2 or 3 times.
This year I can't make it.
Be safe, have fun.

Just landed a ticket, from a buddy who can't go. (It's been sold out, since Wednesday.)
I rode it 3 years ago; looks like the route is similar this year, but in reverse.

Weather should be ideal; looking forward to it.

One of these days I'd love to, but with two kids playing soccer, every fall Saturday is booked solid. It should be a perfect day. Enjoy!

I crashed on Foxy's last year - broke 7 ribs... I need to do it again to show it who's boss.

But this year I'm doing Cycling 4 Vets with my neighbor's son.

That was my first century, I enjoyed it. The weather couldn't have been much more perfect. The rain was minimal, it wasn't cold in the morning, it wasn't hot later in the day, for people like me who didn't finish until just before 4:00 there was a lot of beautiful sunshine in the afternoon. I have to think I liked it better than if we were riding the reverse direction, I liked having all the hard climbing done before lunch and before the halfway mark.

If you'd asked me a month ago where Highway 128 near the Monticello Dam was, I would have had no clue. Last night when I was watching the news they were showing rock slides on Highway 128 near the Monticello Dam. I thought, dam, I was riding that road yesterday. Sounds like about the only rain in the greater Bay Area yesterday was on the Foxy's route, where in about an hour there was 3/4" of rain in the flats and 1"+ of rain in the hills. Glad it didn't happen 30 hours earlier.

Anyway, I had a great time.

Yeah, I enjoyed it, as well. Winds, rain, and small/fast group made this one tough. Back at the start for lasagna before 1:00. I, too, liked getting the climbing out of the way in the first half.

We try to do this ride every year, and this year's ride was a good one, with a little rain to make one feel like a Euro pro (ok, well, maybe not), a little wind to mix it up a bit, and a ride up and over Cantelow Road, which I hadn't done for a few years, so, yeah, it was totally worth the drive to come back for this ride.

My old century buddy talked me into doing Foxy's 2019.

It'll be the 5-year anniversary since my broken rib crash in Foxy's 2014 - my fault, not sure what happened, no road hazard.
Looks like they're doing the main loop in the opposite direction this year - I'll see the crash spot from the other side of the road.

One year I rode it with the flu.
One year I rode the family ride with my daughter on our tandem.
One year I rode the family ride with my neighbor's son.
One year I rode it on my classic steel bike with sew-ups.
I've seen lots of BF and Diablo regulars on this ride.
Really looking forward to the 2019 version.

For whatever reason, this is one of Tricia's favorites, and one of the few paid rides we do. We're in for 2019, and will be taking a new ridder with us, hoping she's up for it.

Looks like a nice century. I could have done this easily. Instead I am going to implement self hatred and do the Cycle of Hope Metric with 5,300 feet of climbing. I think it's a combination of charity and insanity. The full Century has over 8,000 feet of climbing.

Does anyone know if it is acceptable to spend the night in a class B camper at the ride start parking lot?
