Well, that was cool!
So here I was tearing along on my bike in Concord, MA near the famous "Old North Bridge", when a couple of young ladies rode by me in a car honking the horn, and shouting "suggestive" comments. They did the same to a much younger jogger just down the road.
I don't get that a lot these days.
Okay, I should have perhaps used the term: "flirtatious", rather than: "suggestive". Whatever you call it, I just got a kick out of it.

Are you sure that they weren't being ironic? I've heard there's a lot of that going around amongst the younger folk.

This is the whole point.
If it isn't OK for men then why is it OK for women? Abuse is abuse and cat calls are not compliments.
Maybe I'm alone here but they don't seem like the kind of women I'd want to be "complimented" by, let alone associated with. My grandmother had a name for girls like that and it wasn't a nice name.

It's a little disconcerting, in your 50's and cat-calls from young women. The last time it happened to me it turned out to be some of the gals that knew me, from a tech placement agency, It was more about cheering me on than anything else, which was cool IMO but also a little deflating compared to random cat-calls.

Spandex is very slimming.
Just don't tell the wife.. she might think you only go out cycling to meet girls.
Puppies and babies are definite "chick" magnets.

The "flirting with death" absolutely hilarious! Shared that with some friends.
I noticed on my last organized ride that young (20 somethings) women I spoke with, or shared a hill with called me "sir"...that's super and polite, but also a perspective to consider...LOL.

I haven't gotten into the spandex thing yet. Perhaps I'd better not lest I start a riot.

Call me unlucky or too ugly
Never had any women of any age whistle or catcall or moon or otherwise raz me on a ride. Shucks.

I rode by the North Bridge park entrance yesterday. No girls! Now I'm disappointed...
In my first year riding (age 64), I failed to unclip 3 times. Once was coming downhill in Sudbury into a T intersection. Almost no visibility to the left which is where I was going. I'm fat, so I always try to avoid complete stops - I want to maintain as much momentum as possible! I'm stretching to see, there's sand, there IS a car coming, and I'm leaned the wrong way. BAM! So I'm lying there, embarrassed, and the two girls in the car lean out to ask if I'm OK or if I need help. Wow! They're from Lincoln-Sudbury HS and they are freaking gorgeous. Had I been quicker witted, I might has asked for CPR.
My "go to" route is 31 miles and hits a corner of Billerica on N road.

I live in a Navy town and have been very nicely complimented by guys. Yes, it's the legs, although the butt isn't too bad either. And of course, I'm cute.

You beat me to it. I was cycling on Coast Highway 101 when someone observed, "That guy has awesome calves," then, directly to me, "You have awesome calves." Unfortunately, it was a male cyclist. As long as my girlfriend of almost 49 years / wife of 44 years continues to tell me the same thing, no problem.
