New here from Ireland
Hi I'm from st mullins, carlow, Ireland.
to cycle here and just stick to the roads would be crazy. There's so much hill and woodland and 60 miles of riverbank track. A mtb or gravel bike is a must to get away from the busy roads.

Monstercross,
Must be a dream to cycle over there, my impression is that most of the country is lush and green.
Great folks to share your enthusiasm for MTB and Cyclocross.
Best, Ben

Absolutely love your beautiful country but as you said, road riding is surely suicidal. Would love to gravel ride the countryside. I rented a car in Dublin and drove clock-wise along the coast to halfway up the west coast, driving a couple of ‘rings’ while skipping the larger cities and tourist cities and positively loved it. After COVID, will return to drive the northern half. Riding it would be even better. Hello to the donkeys!
